(At least I was.)
I'm not saying the officials were biased toward the Raps, because it was awful both ways, but its too bad they had to try and put their stamp on an otherwise great game. Mitchell outcoached Frank in this game badly. It's funny because Raptors fans at the games are like the punk kid who gets the crap kicked out of him in a fight, but keep talking ****. VC lit the Raps up down the stretch and they still chant, and if the Nets win this series they'll still chant. My question was why is Carter passing the ball at the end, and why is Nachbar (anti-clutch) even on the court? Questionable coaching throughout by LF.
Yea the officials really pissed me of during the game, and I can see why they would piss off Nets fans too. They turned it into a foul-shooting contest for the last 3 minutes and started a Nets run by putting Bosh, Graham, Peterson, and Calderon in foul trouble with stupid calls. VC started to light up the Raps once Mo-Pete fouled out. I thought that much was obvious. I love our crowd though. They get on players throughout the whole game and give the team enough momentum and fill the arena with energy off one or two good plays.
Yes, the officiating was piss-poor both ways and completely nullified agressive defense, which kind of hurt the Nets a little more because they are more of a hard-nosed defensive team than the Raps. That said, the ****** foul on Bosh made up for any gifts the Raps did get so either way they really outplayed NJ and deserved the win.
Calderon shld be ok for game 6. Probably wont be as effective as he was today, but its a blessing in disguise for us. Lawrence Frank will try to make adjustments to some of Jose's easy baskets tonite, but Jose might not as effective in game 6, so the other guys will step up...eg TJ. So i have a feeling LF wont have much of adjustments to make in that regard. Bosh is due for a big game, and Game 6 will be it. BOOK IT. WE ARE GONNA WIN GAME 6 and bring this baby back to toronto on sunday.. ps: Mitchell coached a good game tonite, lets give credit to where credit is due. KUDOS.

Great game. Nice to see us put it all on the line. -Thank you Sam Mitchell for putting Mopete in the game. The guy played well and put it all on the line. -Calderon was amazing, loved the game he put on. I can not picture this raptors team without him on it.
We had Carter pretty well covered on that last play. He didn't really have a shot so he passed it up which was the right move I think. Bosh failed to show up again. He was in foul trouble all night and when he was on the floor he failed to get to the basket and put up jump shots again. At least he made an effort on defense though. All our other guys stepped up tonight and we still barely won. We need Bosh to play better.
What was with that play where Kidd "fouled" bosh with somewhere between 15-30 seconds left. He never even touched him and they blew the whistle. Officiating was garbage.
Officiating wasn't the determinant in the game by any means though, so what's the point in complaining about it.
<div class="quote_poster">McGrady^1 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">you think we can keep jose in toronto? it'll be hard with the way hes playing</div> Jose will stay in Toronto. He's a loyal guy, and Garbo is his best friend. I really can't see Jose leaving Toronto. BC isn't an idiot...he'll reward Jose with the kind of money that he is worth. This game was scary...I almost crapped my pants when Bochie got that wide open look at the end of the game. Either way, I'd rather have him shooting that then Vince. Anyone seen Chris Bosh? Someone needs to tell him a couple things: 1) In the playoffs, a team's all star is supposed to step up. Bosh should be averaging at LEAST 28ppg and 10rpg. At the MINIMUM. 2) When you get the ball...don't just look around and wait a minute before making your move. You're just giving the defence time to set, and the double team a chance to start to shade over, giving you less room to operate. Sometimes you should just catch the ball, and explode to the basket.

When I saw Vince get the ball beyond the 3 point line on that last play I was like "Oh NO, not again!" and then I relaxed a little bit when he decided to drive it and then he passed out to an open Nachbar and I almost had a hard attack We have to stop leaving Nachbar wide open at the end of games because he's going to make that shot sooner or later. We did a good job on Vince though, taking his shot away. It seems like mostly everyone on the Raps has gotten over their nervousness now except for Bosh. He should feel really lucky that his teammates bailed him out and that he still has another opportunity to make up for his horrible play. Hopefully, he'll take advantage of that although I'm not confident that he will.
I remember earlier in the season, the question of how Bosh would attack double teams was raised. Sam Mitchell suggested that he should be more assertive and attack quicker, but Bosh kind of contradicted him and said that he preferred to not rush things and just pass it out if he was being doubled. That was about the time he started passing out of the double team and our team really started to swing the ball quicker and shoot better, so the issue kind of got buried. Anyways, the point I wanted to bring up is that I think Bosh is going at this problem all wrong. I understand that he wants to limit his mistakes and make sure he doesn't commit turnovers, but he has to realize that isolation plays don't work well against a zone defense. Quite a few times last night, the Raps would come off some picks, move the ball, Bosh would get possession and, for a couple seconds, be facing single coverage. He needs to think less and automatically put the ball on the floor in those situations. Most of the time he'll draw a foul, but even if he doesn't, its still a better shot opportunity than those fadeway turnarounds he's been throwing up. Also, Bosh has to be less tentative when he's on the floor and in foul trouble. I understand that he's trying to make sure that he doesn't foul out, but he needs to understand how much of a liability he is when he plays like that. When he had 4 in the 4th quarter, NJ put the ball on the floor and went straight at him whenever they could, and he didn't even try to stop them. I'm all for preserving yourself, but there's no point if you're going to be that ineffective. Might as well go down swinging and take a page out of Mo-Pete's book, who fouled out but was arguably the most important player on the floor before he did.
