The Kings did what the Rangers didn't. They followed up a shot on net with another player. Rangers would simply skate past the goal instead.
Same story every game 28. Our D coverage was poor. A lot of mistakes in this series. A lot of TO's in this series. Credit the Kings for sure, but also put some on us for not playing smarter in our own zone.
Plus side is the way Richards ended the season, he will be gone within 10 days. Then add a C to replace him. A big physical dman to play in the top 4. And maybe try and add some scoring punch on the wing. I really think McDonagh will be a Norris finalist next season. 50 + points in my call.
Kings were just slightly better and had some better luck. Great season for the Rangers, no one seen this coming mid way through the season.
Zucc made a few mistakes on D in this series. He is a threat on O, but he has to clean up the other side of the ice IMO. Be a little sounder.
Guys I wouldn't break down the winning goal for an hour. At some point an OT winner is going to be scored. They had plenty of chances including two PPs in OT to win this thing and didn't get it done.
Kings took 5 OT periods to win 3 home games. Other then G4 Rangers really got no breaks this series. I am not that bummed. Kings better team. Loved Rangers effort tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It does suck. Would have loved to watch a game 6...that would have been crazy at MSG. VERY frustrating. Cannot believe we lost 3 OT games. We really do suck in OT overall. Our record with Hank in playoff OT is awful. Just can't bury the chances. And Nash really better do some serious sole serching this summer. He is a joke on skates. 3 goals in 25 playoff games...WOW. All 3 in one series. ZERO against the Flyers, Pens, and Kings...WOW.
I do hear you Dis, but the Kings made their own breaks. That's their game. They were tougher. That is why I rather would have played the Hawks. And the Kings are just better like you said. Yes 3 OT games, but a 4-1 series is not a close series. Close games sure outside of game 3, sure, but not a close series overall when it goes 5 games.
Lots of chances for both teams to win it. Kings got it done. They played like champions in the finals, never gave up in a single game, constantly battled. They deserve the cup, no doubt. Gonna be a looooonnnngggg short off-season. Already looking forward to October.
Sure did Mess. We had our real shot to make this a long great series in game 2. We didn't hold 3 two goal leads, and the rest was history IMO.
Richards out...Kesler in. I would love that move. Deal Miller, another kid, a pick, and a little more if needed. Then sign a top 4 big physical dman. That's what I would like.
