Yup. And last night Lafreniere only got 11 minutes of ice and Kakko 10 despite their line being very strong for a few games now.
Here we go again with the pp... We got 1 last night and 2 in game 4... Even strength is the problem not the pp.
Tampa has done a masterful job of clogging up the ice and making it a slog for the Rangers. The Rangers skating has slowed and unfortunately as shown last night they didn't convert on their good scoring chances. Take a look at the last three games. 2 PP Goals 1 Garbage time Goal 1 Impossible angle Goal
Copp is really best suited as a #3C on a SC contender. They really need another upper tier guy like a Schiefele but adding $6m this summer will be very tough if you plan on keeping Copp and Motte. Even if you include Chytil and Georgiev the other way and get rid of Nemeth it's going to be tough $ wise.
If they have any chance of pulling this series out, Fox is going to have to start making more happen with getting pucks to the net when there's traffic in front, which there hasn't been much of.
I agree, I like Copp as a # 3 C. We need to add that legit # 2 C, move Panarin to RW so Lafreniere can play in the top 6, Kakko is the other top 6 RW. Copp anchors the 3rd line. Goodrow anchors the 4th line. If we have to let Motte walk to do that, so be it. Blais back in mix. Reaves will be here. At least one kid takes a spot. Chytil gone most likely for a C. Kreider/Z/Kakko Lafreniere/C/Panarin Blais/Copp/Kid Motte/Goodrow/Reaves Maybe a little weak on the 3rd line, but I'd try to keep Motte first, if not maybe Vatrano for the 3rd line instead. And a kid can complete the 4th line.
I'd love that team, though adding a top 2 center will be tough cap wise as we have some pretty bad contracts. I think Blais is RW so the kid would go on the left. It is time to stop fucking around with Kakko and Lafreniere and let them sink or swim. Take the kid gloves off and put them on the top 2 lines.
We shall see if the calls tighten up against TB to force a game 7, it would be in the NHL's best interest. Nobody expected the Rangers to be so close this quickly. Would love to see Kakko put his shoulder down and drive to the net. He's much stronger than he thinks.
the problem porter is kakko while talented is a physical pansy on the ice without a drop of physicality in him at all
