I wish Seth luck...he'll have a great time in his hometown with Dame and Steph there..it was a good move to invite him….winning these things is sort of like getting a stuffed toy at the county fair though..allstar weekend is all about the after parties behind the scenes...partying with Shaq, Snoop Dog and Drake not to mention their entourage'....NBA players get star struck just like fans do

Seriously, do you even watch the games? .481% from the 3 line is the reason he got in.

Whenever I find out that an actual Trail Blazer is involved with any of the All Star games events... I act the same way as when I find out that an NHL Player is actually an American citizen.

While Davis Bertans shoots more threes at a better percentage did not get the invite.

Or Joe Harris who shoots nearly as well while shooting two more attempts per game also did not get the invite.

    FOH. Don't watch games?

Joe Harris is 3rd and over .010 points less. Seth is clearly second in the league. Obviously the NBA disagrees with you.

Sure, but his numbers back up his selection and to comment that his name is the only reason he made it is a typical slam that for some reason is more prevalent in this forum than it should be.

No doubt. How much his name played a role I don't know, his percentage is good (though he doesn't have a lot of attempts). I'm sure with it being in Charlotte and ties to his brother and his Dad all the factors played a role in getting him in there. Hope him or Dame wins.

Interesting to me, looking at bkref, that both Bertans and Harris have been assisted on 100% of their 3's, whereas Curry has created over 20% of his own 3-point shooting opportunities. Anyone know where to find Curry's catch-and-shoot 3P%?

Of course, his agent lobbying for his selection might have had something to do with it too. I haven't heard whether or not Bertans or Harris' agents were doing the same for their client.

To be clear I'm not denying in any way that his Percentage doesn't also play a big reason as to why he's in there. I think he's a really, really good 3 point shooter and he belongs there.

Seth was leading the league in 3pt% until last week (on fewer than 3 attempts per game), the event is in hometown where his dad was a mainstay in the 90s, and who is currently still a broadcaster with their team, annd it would bring his older brother Steph back into the contest to make for a compelling story. Davis Bertans and Joe Harris don't have nearly as much cachet.

But you know, apparently calling out such an obvious connection means I don't watch games. Go figure.

Yep. The All Star weekend is a marketing tool for the NBA so looking at the complete package is a benefit for the NBA. Curry, has the name, is a hometown guy, going against his brother and 48% from 3 adds up to a very marketable player.

Bait? Are you a fish? It wasn't bait, it was merely an opinion. You seem to take issue with opinions that differ from yours.
