No I don't watch any of the games... eyeroll

Let me ask you this....please name the best #6 and #7 dman on each team that is that much better than what the Rangers throw our there.
Complaining about the number 6 or 7 dman is just looking for a reason to bitch and moan.
Let's ignore the fact that our 5th dmen could be top three on pretty much any other team in the league.

I meant #6. You need to have especially #6 dependable to eat some minutes so the rest of the d-men don't get burn out. Mikkola does not seem like he can do the job. He is awful.

He has played 3 whole games...all three wins..can we cut the guy a little slack?

This team defensively has been shit when Shesterkin plays. Lundqvist’s teams did the same thing. They figure he would always bail them out.

Another day another win. Igor wasn't particularly sharp but seemed like the Rangers played down to the Canucks who seemed to have more energy. Jimmy Vesey was a great pickup by Drury, he has become a terrific 2 way player and I like Gauthier's effort on the 4th line.

The goal is point accumulation and at the very least jump over NJ for home ice in the first round and potentially the second. They won so its two points and move on.

Truth is I'm not too concerned with home ice. Put me in round 1 against the Devs and I am very confident. In a way I prefer to start on the road, where we'll have fans in that building anyway. Just finish 2nd or 3rd and I am good, and right now it looks like very good chance it will be us/Devs in round 1.

Then if we get by that series, and we will IMO, we have the big one against the Canes. That is the series I think produces the winner of the East.

I couldn't stay up to watch the end of the third but I saw what Porter saw. The Rangers played sloppy to poor defense, turned the puck over a lot and played down to the Canucks level (minus the energy/tenacity). Take the two points for sure.
Personally I think Harpur is a steadier option than Mikkola from what I have seen from both of them so far. Mikkola seems to find himself in the box a lot more frequently than Harpur. For that alone I would play Harpur over him in the playoffs.

Harpur blows compared to Mikkola. He has no skill. His skating sucks compared to his. Harpur doesn't hit anybody. As Joe said, Mikkola plays better in the playoffs. Mikkola plays an aggressive style. He'll get some penalties. I would think he like most players will be more disciplined in the post season. You're out of your fucking mind thinking the winner of the Canes-Rangers series will come out of the East. For starters, when I see a team in the East actually beat the Lightning, come talk to me. Not to mention the Bruins who are going to be a pain in the ass. A team by the way that bitched slapped the Rangers this season. You people are whacking off after a few games since the trade. The team defense is still atrocious and the team blows on faceoffs overall. They badly need a 4th line center, faceoff stud to even the playing field.

not sure about whacking off, it is a nice run of 6 wins in a row and points in the last 8. in fact we all said how they played shitty against a shitty team.

1. I think the Atlantic is so tough with BOS, Tor, TB those teams will really drain each other.
2. BOS is obviously very good, but I do not think they'll win the cup. I think they really pressed and played at another level the first 1/2 + of the season, and that is not sustainable.
3. I do not think TB makes the SCF's again this season.

Those are my takes, and I'll standby Canes/NYR series winner makes the SCF , but a lot can change by the time the playoffs start. This is how I feel today.

The last third of the season becomes very physical. I don't know if the Debs can last, could see them dropping out of the top 3.
