Quick has been the far superior goalie, but yea, sure let’s play the bum Igor who hasn’t shown a fucking thing all season long. Guy is terrible. And let’s leave him in. If you’re gonna leave him in after that shit, then leave him in the entire game and let him give up 12. Fuck that bum

Igor has to stop the second goal. On that third goal Lindgren’s effort was horrible.

Igor has been fucking awful all year long. Quick has shown that he’s been the much better goalie all year long. Igor is just another flash in the pan goalie. It happens all the time where a random goalie will be incredible for a few years but then quickly disappears into nothing. That’s Igor. Send him back to the KHL where he belongs.

The whole team has been sluggish.

Yup, despite the first goal they’re being out skated.

95% of the goals Igor has let in this season are soft goals.

This is a one and done team in the playoffs as is right now. So the choices are trade youth and picks to hopefully get lucky and make a deep run or trade and rebuild.

Just get someone on the cheap like they did with Vatrano a couple of years ago and you can still make a respectable run. Giving up youth and draft picks not worth it since there are no one available who is a stud with a long term

All things considered the way they were outplayed only down 3-1 is not terrible

Only thing worse than that first period is whoever these rejects are they have on intermission

I don’t think a Vatrano is all they need though. We’ve seen so many mental lapses by defensemen this year, and obviously Igor can’t be counted on to bail them out anymore. Unless/until Igor finds his game, Quick should be the starter.

Overall that was what I expected from an outdoor game against the Isles. Isles grinding and hitting and crashing to the net, Rangers finessing and staying to the outside and taking weak wrist shots from above the circles with no one in front. Wouldn’t have thought Isles would put up 3 goals in the first period though.

A shame to see the downfall of Igor this quickly also. Like the announcer said, his glove hand is weak and teams are exposing him on it and he’s making 0 adjustments to fix himself it appears. If he can’t get that fixed with BA then there’s almost no chance he ever will. BA is the best goalie coach in the NHL, but if a goalie is going to always keep his glove hand down too low and refuses to adapt, he will be gone (the goalie, not BA).

At this point leave him in. Let them score 10 on him. He’s done anyway. Let him totally get the score run up on him and sulk more on the bench when Quick is starting and outplaying him.

What I will say is, I’m not giving Shesterkin a long-term contract
