Firing the coach isn’t going to change anything. They did that with Gallant. Bunch of lazy fat cat players that need to be broken up. Yes, Rempe does often times add something but a team like Toronto would turn him inside out and skate around him like a cone on the ice.

To me these are two separate things. The Rangers being within shouting of making the playoffs as a WC is VERY VERY different than the Rangers being a legit threat to make a run in the playoffs, let alone win a SC. No one would say the Rangers are mathematically eliminated, or they have no shot to make the playoffs, last I checked that wasn't the goal though.

I hate to say it, it's also why I want the Rangers to lose the 3 remaining games before the trade DL, to avoid giving Drury any delusion this team has a legit shot and should be buyers. If they lose even 2 of the 3 their odds of making the playoffs are very low considering how many teams are bunched up for two spots, and they would be at least 6 points out I'd say if they lose at least 2 of 3.

Totally agree, and again to me these are two very different things.

Lav has not been perfect, and I admit I don't always love his lines and how he distributes minutes/gives kids a chance to play important roles. With that said, anyone who thinks the coach is at/near the top of the list of reasons why this team is not good, I think it looking for the easy lazy excuse. Been there, done that with the coach as you stated.

The terrible in over his head Pres/GM and the old stale core of lazy fat cat players are miles ahead of Lav on the list of those responsible for this mess.

I will also say, if they did fire Lav though I would not flip out, as when a team plays this poorly the coach does have some responsibility of course. My only comment though is if Lav goes, Drury better be right next to him on the way out the door. And NONE of it will matter unless the Rangers make some major core changing moves, which Drury should have done this past summer.

My gut says both Lav and Drury are back though, especially Drury unfortunately. My gut also says, Drury is not the guy to have the balls or creativity to make the major core changes moves needed, which is also unfortunate.

100% Mel, it's been one of my biggest gripes with Lav. 11 shifts for Othmann, 6:30 ice time 3 shots 2 hits while Panarin, Mika and Trocheck get 25 minutes. JT gets a little under 20. The Rangers did what they needed to do to win, outshot Toronto 2-1 and won faceoffs at a 2-1 margin but a few unfortunate plays by Igor cost them the game. The area I noticed Toronto players circling around Rempe was in front of their crease since they couldn't move him but as Mel pointed out, only 4 minutes of ice time for Matt while Alex's Fatderieire cruised the ice avoiding threats and shooting wide. What a disappointment, 25 points off last year's total , a -18 and now his lazy, unmotivated ass is dragging down his linemates scoring, hopefully Drury can move him before the deadline.
