moral victory? I'm happy with bench player progress, defense and that we had a shot to win this one...I don't think you sound too happy in general about it though...I enjoyed the game last night and would have loved to get the win...when you guys go after Stotts you lose my attention.. I like his approach to the game...I like the team...I can handle a slip up 5 games in. My moral victory is a victory of my own temperament hoops......watching game thread meltdowns and angst over play calling isn't my thing....I'm still cheering ...don't know why you seem so challenged by this...the last shot of this game was a prayer that luckily went in....we didn't lose this game with that shot...we lost it in the paint and with turnovers

Thanks for a voice of reasoning. Seems so many in this forum have to have a scapegoat whether it be Stotts, Olshey, CJ, Tolliver or whoever else fits their need.

My observation is the Skal doesn't have great hands for corralling a ball.

Like I said, can't even question Stotts. He's so perfect!

I'm glad you're entertained by blowing a 21 point 2nd half lead at home and losing.

Huh? Skal did a really nice job of catching low passes last night.

I greatly appreciate your continous optimism towards the team. Seriously. 6 games in and we're at .500. Cool! Let's win the next one!

Terry Stotts has cost us multiple wins in an early season. It seems like he's sabotaging Dame and the rest of the team.

Yeah I watched it. Did you happen to maybe think they played poorly because they were playing on the road against a fairly good team even though the Blazers were decimated by injuries? Just a thought?

    God Bless you, riverman....
I'd probably wanna hang around if 5% of the posters in here had your talent of reasonable observation.
    But, alas...they don't.
And no, I won't let the door hit me on the way out.

Yeah they were stripping him and he wasn’t tough enough to keep the ball on rebounds.

credit the other team once in a while for actually making a run and earning that win last night....I enjoy good basketball on both sides of the court...we just came up short...I trust Stotts game decisions way more than I trust your critique of his coaching....and if you feel great about your opinion, why not just do that instead of belittling fans for supporting their own experience around here? Nobody is perfect...but Stotts let's them have a chance to make a mistake...it's part of what I like about his team culture. Sometimes you sound like you need a Bobby Knight coaching by screaming and throwing chairs around the place.....I was never a fan of that guy

When Stotts took Skal out with about 4:45 left up 8 points the rest of the game was basically just trying to run out the clock. There weren't really any plays being ran, just a bunch of standing around and hoping Dame does something. The thing was Dame was doing something because of Skal. There were multiple screens Skal got Dame a wide open 3. Skal was doing well slipping the pick when Dame was doubled as well.

The overall premise of your question though is why I'm so upset. The Blazers ARE a good team, even with the injuries. With the tough schedule and injuries you have to finish games like this. It doesn't really matter how ugly you win as long as you win. The road trip was a perfect example of this. The Blazers didn't play particularly well in any of the games but found a way to win 3 of the 4, thanks mostly to Dame.

This has nothing to do with the style of coaching. Tolliver said after the game that the gameplan was to not switch the picks with 2 seconds left. Even Hurd on the broadcast mentioned that any coach should be telling their team to switch all picks in that situation.

But I can't question that with the Stotts police telling me the 76ers just "made a tough shot" and "had a good run"? Honestly guys, you have provided no answers to the Stotts criticism other than that you don't like people that criticize him. This is why I'm getting into it with several of you. Why are we not allowed to discuss something as simple as switching picks. It is such a simple concept that every coach should know in that situation.

And our leader deferred to the youngster with that pass. Sure, the team lost the game. However, Simons will remember that shot for the rest of his life. To me, this is the greatest thing that happened in the game. Simons KNOWS he can hit the crucial shot, and IMHO; is gonna make many more like that in the future. Just like Dame has...

Yes, tough loss. There was a huge win in there though.

In the end good teams find a way to win. The Blazers had found a great shot in the corner and Simmons made the shot. That was really nice to see.
Equally Philly is a good team and they found an open guy with .4 seconds left and he made a shot. I'm betting their fans are pretty happy about that shot.

ENTERTAINMENT! That is why my original post that you quoted said "Good Game. Tough Loss. Hope Hood is OK". Tell me exactly what is wrong with that take?

You don't drop games at home after leading by 20+. These are bad losses any way you slice it
