Have to stop the Stone shot....no excuse for that. The first one was a deflection....how he got THAT wide open in front of Lundqvist to deflect that one is the real issue.

Agreed...he won't. If we lost to the Caps or Pens I'd feel differently, no excuse to get beat by this team. AV's decisions really hurt this team in games 2 & 5.

I'm sure after the game is over the focus will be on game 6, it shouldn't be. Not where the series was lost.

It's the same players under both coaches. How many coaches should be brought in until that's realized? They swapped out Gaborik for Nash which ended up biting the Rangers in the finals that year. Aside from that what else? Too many of the same type of player.

The bottom line is they lost three games these playoffs while they had the lead late and the other team had their goalie pulled. Once can happen to anyone but three times is a major issue. If they don't come back here it's obvious what cost them the series.

I would agree with that 717, but to me this was different. AV made some awful decisions in this series...awful. And his comments about experience on and on were frankly BS. So I disagree in that sense. That is why AV should be on the hot seat. His decisions were awful.

Pointless though, AV is not going anywhere.

Rangers flat as a pancake. That is why I felt the start was huge. Once Ottawa scored first I knew we were in huge trouble. I said it prior to the game.

Agreed 717, and AV's AWFUL decisions played a huge role in those blown games man.

And Anderson playing well tonight. He was due for a good game. When he was terrible we took advantage, but couldn't finish it off.

I was afraid this was going to end up happening tonight. It always does when you let a team hang around and grab the momentum. Don't forget this is twice. Once they were able to overcome being down 2-0 in the series. Then they had another gut punch last game and so far it doesn't look like they're going to be able to get up again.

Real hard to do that as you wrote. Frankly it was a VERY longshot they would be able to. And it also doesn't factor in that Ottawa was due for a good game in NY. And Anderson was due for a good game. And Ottawa had to get a boost from winning game 5. That is all enough on its own, but add in the kicker of the Rangers not being able to overcome another mental gut punch, and you get this game tonight. It was ALL stacked against us the second Brass tied game 5. I think we all knew it then, but didn't want to flat out say it.

Obviously next goal is a 100% must for the Rangers. If they get shutout again to be eliminated at home...wow.

Need a goal early in the period. The longer it drags on the tighter they will be squeezing their sticks and Ottawa will go into the four man back scheme.

Also why I felt more confident they'd win game 7 than game 6. If they would have won tonight and overcame another gut punch, I think they would have won game 7...I really do. Tonight was the hurdle.

Agreed. Ottawa already will fall back into their D system. Since we have led pretty much the whole series we haven't had to deal with that. That's why we have scored a lot in this series since game 1.

The turning point tonight was the 4 minute PP where we got nothing and lost every face off. Needed a goal in that 4 minutes.

Except to get 50K people at a hockey game and that's it's outdoors I don't get the point of them. If I want to freeze watching a game I'll stick to football.
