I despise them, but the Warriors would be a good team to emulate on both ends of the floor

Mission accomplished. If Blazers finish with a bottom 3 record, the potential for a game changer in the draft is higher than ever. Don't look at these games and get butt hurt. The Warriors did the same thing a few years ago when Curry was hurt.

Nothing wrong with that. Cronin does need to prove he can do it. But Olshey set the bar low, and Cronin is off to a nice start. I'm looking forward to the off season.

    Warriors 132, Blazers 95

The Blazers get blown out in their first game back from the All-Star break. After a fun first quarter, the Blazers went ice cold and GS dominated. Come talk about the game, tanking, and more with us!

There is no way we're making the play-in. 62% of you should be ashamed.

I did get a kick out of all the BS about Nurk's injury by Coach, Trev, and Jay. They were giving Academy Award performances.

well, that sure was a mismatch, and yeah TNT kind of majored in ignorance tonight

Ant got more double team action tonight than CJ ever did in a month. It wasn't the typical aggressive all-out doubles & traps the Warriors usually run at Dame, but then, Draymond didn't play and he's always been the main blitz man against Dame.

it may be that Nurk's agent was just fine with Nurk sitting out a month because if tonight is the new norm it will become pretty obvious that Nurk has a lot of value to Portland

Chuck readily admits that he doesn’t watch most of the games they do. He’s criticizing the Blazers for trying to run and fast break with the Warriors yet the Blazers had 21 fast break points while the Warriors had 18. :breakdance:

Looking at the teams with worse records, the worst the Blazers can do is probably end up with the 6th, or seventh worst record at best. But there's always a chance.

in the race to the bottom, I think 7th is the best the Blazers can do. They still 'trail' the Spurs and Pels by 1.5 games and are even with the Knicks

the 2 main problems with increasing Blazer lottery odds are the last 11 games of the season (very easy schedule) and other teams being better at tanking. Simons might need to develop a season-ending hangnail.

Caught the game from the second quarter when we were down ten until the end. Ant didn't look bad at all but he also didn't look like a world beater or the second coming of Dame. He also didn't have much fire power around him to take the heat off. This is probably what these next nine games will look like and if we're lucky the rest of the guys can look this bad against all of the bad teams we play for eleven of our last thirteen and we can end up with the fifth worst record in the league and get lucky in the lotto... or we lose some but win some of these games against playoff teams, then win eleven straight then Dame and Nurk come back for the last two games, the play ins and getting beaten by these same guys but putting up a fight in the first round.

Either way this is a good chance to set good habits and have a team building off season unless we end up with the 11th trough 14th pick and the Pelicans pick doesn't convey. Then we're kinda fucked and will just be mediocre again next season.

Not really fair to microanalyze the new guys, but Williams seems like a decent prospect. You could tell he (and all the new guys) was out there just winging it for the most part because he doesn’t know the system well enough yet, so the zero assists wasn’t really a surprise. Also the worst (best?) defense to have your first game against.

Keon made multiple stops defensively against really good players. I like how Billups threw him at Curry at the end of the first half. He also seems to get to his spots offensively. I’d like to see him play more with Ant, in place of Elleby.

If you missed the 1st quarter, then you missed a lot of Simons who was the game high scorer. He looked great.

Ant looked like Dame does when he gets doubled and has no help. Ant had 24-3-3 with a hyper efficient 50% from the field and 4/7 from three.
