Do you suppose Giles can play along with Nurkic? I’d like to see this experiment. Giles would relieve RoCo and Melo can relieve Powell.

just something I’d like to see as a bit of an experiment.

This is the kind of game where we need H-J. Just throw good wing defenders at their guys. 48 minutes of Hell.

I thought about that for teams that play two bigs. The Lakers have either Drummond and Davis or Gasol and Davis. The Bucks play Giannis and Lopez. There could be a time and place for this.

I don't know what's going on with Giles. He couldn't have had a better opportunity this year, and just hasn't taken advantage of it. The talent is there, I wonder what he lacks?

Outside shooting. Unlike normal coaches, Stotts requires it at every position. It makes it harder for Olshey to fill slots.

I enjoyed seeing our guys play like that but what "excellent team" did we play? That team has two MVPs on it and neither of them played against us. Without either of those two MVPs that team is not excellent and is not even a +.500 team. Can't wait to play the Celtics. I hope we win that one because that would be really impressive and incredibly fun. Regardless I hope this is the Dame we get for the rest of the season. I love watching him play.

Portland is not an easy out when Dame is on his game...but I guess we knew that

speaking of Dame...I'm wondering if this was the first time he has scored 30 points without shooting a single free throw. That's not to say he didn't deserve to shoot any because I saw him fouled at least three times on drives to the hoop

Nurkic played really well and speaking of questionable coaching, I'm not sure why Nash decided to defend Nurk with Griffin and defend Kanter with Jordan. Nurk didn't throw up his usual 3 or 4 weak-shit shots around the rim and that's encouraging. There's no way he should rank 9th on the Blazers in FG% at the rim; he should be up close to 2nd with Kanter

    Mine too.

    Melo +22
    Kanter +20
    Simons +10

Second straight game Melo had the game high +/-. Two games ago, Simons was +42.

    Another enjoyable win!

There are probably going to be a matchup here or there where DJJ might be helpful, but our offense with Nurk and without DJJ is such a huge improvement. I'm not worried about DJJ leaving this summer, I'm more worried about him picking up his option and us being stuck with him. There has to be more productive players out there we can spend $9m on. There certainly was last summer.

I'm not sure this is accurate. When Nurk was out, yes, Stotts was going to RoCo or Melo at the backup center position (which wasn't ideal). But with Nurk back, Giles is a much better outside shooter than Kanter, yet he's still not playing. If outside shooting was #1, then Giles would play of Kanter.

I like Giles' skillset, but I've got a feeling after the Kings didn't pickup his option and now he's getting buried here, there has to be a little more to the story.

Giles just isn't a very good NBA player right now. Maybe he gets there somewhere down the road, but I'm skeptical (and always have been tbh).

Interesting offensive skill set for a guy his size, but his weaknesses are getting exposed in a scaled down role offensively on a better team with more reliable creators.

Doesn't have the reactivity, movement skills / change of direction to play the 4 with any regularity either. He's an option in certain matchups I guess defensively (still don't think he's a good one), but then the offensive fit because a problem.

Strenuus must stop or be stripped of his moderator status. I want that shit on ignore. It’s unoriginal and hateful. Brings nothing productive to the table.

We blew out a completely healthy Grizzlies team (JV and JJJ) They are MUCH a better team than the Celtics. The Celtics lost to a Thunder team that is trying to lose. Not sure how the Celtics are the barometer you’re looking for. But here’s a tip. Our playoff success in the first round will depend on our ability to beat Denver or one of the LA teams in three weeks. No one will give a fuck whether we beat Boston or whether KD and Harden didn’t play tonight. No one will even give a fuck that the Clippers and Nuggets each beat us by 1 point two weeks ago. NONE OF THAT WILL MATTER. All that does matter right now is that we win enough games to get into the playoffs. Who played in those games means nothing.

I bring an understanding of the history of the game, esp the playoffs. And I bring positivity and optimism. Strenuus says one thing over and over and attacks someone personally to their core.

Strenuus as all other Mods and every other poster on here have the right to their opinion even if you disagree with it.

You can always put him on ignore

Strenuus is depressed about the direction of a team he is very passionate about. While you and I and others can take great optomism from these last three games, Stren has his eye on the bigger picture and doesn't like what he has seen/is seeing. Where did he attack anyone. I saw him disagree and offer a negative alternative to another posters opinion. Maybe it's a drag, but he has every right to offer his views.
