Jones isn’t bad, but he’s at best a 6th-7th dman. He is a reserve/spot starter. That’s why he’s still here and not traded. He’s not that great. He isn’t strong enough to clear the crease, he isn’t offensively talented enough to make plays, his hockey IQ isn’t high either. He’s out of position quite often and makes lazy plays…similar to most of our other dmen.

A win is a win, move onto the next game. Fox needs to be a little smarter on the Pens 4th goal. They need to tighten up in their own zone and against the rush as they go forward. Quick with a huge 3rd period.

It’s pretty much exhibition games from now on for the rangers. I expect them to play a pond hockey for the rest of the season.

Clearly missing Trouba (3 hits for the defensive unit) so Pens were free to cruise through the crease unmolested and whack away at Quick after he covered the puck.. With Rempe and Trouba back and Jonny/Jones out the team is much better.

Good job Toronto. Blew a two goal lead in the final two minutes and lost in the shootout to Carolina.

Yes, Toronto at its finest. With that said, it is becoming clearer that TB will be the top WC after Vasil stole one against the Panthers tonight, meaning the Met winner most likely will play TB. Give me the Isles/Caps/Flyers instead if I have a choice. I think the Rangers could beat TB of course, but they are better than those Met teams, with Cup experience, and a way better goalie.

I also don't think home ice in round 2 is a big deal, and I like starting on the road actually. Point to me is if the Canes play really well and pass us, I won't lose any sleep over it. Maybe mentally you want to hold onto 1st after leading all season, but when all is said and done, round 2 against the Canes will be a tough series we'll need to be at our best to win, with or without home ice.

    They’re in playoff mode already.

I watched the third period and OT of the Avs/Oilers game. Man, those are fun teams to watch...they are fast. Colorado is going to be a very tough out this year.
