I am very happy that we are in third right now, but I was told the schedule is going to get tougher.

For any team playing the Blazers it will.

If Nurk keeps up the stellar post play then we'll roll the Cavs. I mean it's still LeBron but his team is worse than ours. Dame and CJ will have strong performances with little resistance from the opposition. You know our guys will be up for a game against LeBron even this year. Overall, I'd be very disappointed with anything but a win.

Neutrons attract neutrons because mass attracts mass. It's just the electric force is stronger. And don't get me started on the Strong force. Mostly because I don't understand it.

Also I would argue jinxes only exist in the athletes' minds.

Anytime you take the court against this man, nothing is going to be easy.

Agreed, IF the rest of his team comes to play. But the Lakers and Clippers BOTH just beat his team by 14 points each. They made it look fairly easy.

Agreed. Just hoping our players aren’t looking at this game as an “easy win” like I’ve seen a few on here post.

I'll be FLOORED if we hold the 3rd spot.

Who do you expect to grab it from us?

I can't see us dropping lower than 4th.

I haven't looked at other teams schedules (and I probably should), but I could see both MIN and OKC passing us. Now let me go take a look at their schedules!

@PtldPlatypus has been tracking this pretty heavily. I don't remember his updated predictions but he can chime in.

MIN's won a couple games they weren't supposed to, but they've still got a couple left in their brutal stretch. OKC has a very tough B2B coming up in a few days.

I expect the Blazers to stay ahead of them, but they need to win tomorrow night.

So if you were projecting 3 through 8 right now how do you expect them to finish at the end of the season? I didn't see that in your post. And of course we will all be wrong. No worries.

Most of the analytical predictions have Portland as the 3rd seed.

Here we have almost a 50% chance to get third seed: http://www.playoffstatus.com/nba/westernstandings.html

These two predict 49 wins, good for third seed:

    https://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/playoff_prob.html

Nothing is a sure thing, but it appears to be a very reasonable outcome.

I'm not saying it's not reasonable. As I said, I like our chances against any team individually. But I'm always wary of living and dying by the 3. With how close things are we have no margin for error.

    Right now, I've got:
    • 3--POR (49-33)
    • 4--MIN (48-34)
    • 5--OKC (47-35)
    • 6--NOP (46-36)
    • 7--UTA (46-36)
    • 8--SAS (45-37)
What's amazing is how much will come down to the final day of the season, with UTA @ POR, SAS @ NOP, & DEN @ MIN all being crucial games for seeding. That's gonna be one crazy Wednesday night.
