Rangers should go into full tank mode the next two seasons. Play their best young players on the first power-play unit full time. Trade Panarin, Kreider, Fox and Trocheck. Get as many picks and top prospects as you can. Go at it 3 years from now.
Awful performance, the Rangers had that critical coach in GG but Drury caved to the players instead of listening to the criticism. Lav can't seem to motivate this group or figure out a competent PP, On the bright side they signed Noah Laba so he'll be in Hartford next year.
It's early for Othmann still, but I kind of wonder about his ceiling. Not that he's expected to be a star or anything. Hopefully he can at least be a solid 3rd liner for 5-6 years.
Othmann has an elite shot. Especially a one timer. He should be getting 18 minutes a night and almost the full 2 minutes on the PP. Now, this year I can understand slowly breaking him in. Next year he needs to be put on a top line and full time on the PP.
Othmann skating is mediocre at best. He needs to vastly improve that or else it won’t matter how “good” his shot is. He won’t ever be in a spot to shoot it.
They really need to find a stud young center who can set up all these young guys coming up in the next few years. Zibanadouche is not the guy anymore. J.T is getting old.
Maybe sign Bennett. Not sure if you build around him as he is nearing 30. He is probably going to want 7 years and NMC lol
I think Kreider is the last guy they drafted who did not have skating issues. lol Gabe should be the next one.
You think every NHL player has to be fast in order to be good. You're fucking delusional. Panarin isn't a fast skater and he's been a prolific scorer. K. Miller skates like the wind and he's a retard half the time. If you don't have vision, anticipation, hockey sense and finishing skills nobody gives a shit how fast you skate. Berard is a great skater but he doesn't do a lot with it.
Hard to evaluate Othman after 14 career games getting 6-7 minutes of ice time from Lav, developing a player requires adequate ice time not necessarily on PP1 but the way the PP has been going I'd give him a shot. I would say he doesn't look overwhelmed and has no problem with the physical part of the game.
