Could be, but for no one to even mention it does really puzzle me, and I'll leave it at that.

Skjei is the dman to watch, Mcilrath won't ever suit up for a regular season game.

Well....onto the offseason and a LONG summer and an even LONGER 82 game grind to get anywhere near the playoffs or a run again. Really frustrating after the season we had. Hopefully Hank will get a cup someday. He needs it to complete his HOF career. I think two years from now might be our next best shot.

A big problem is that Ranger players don't take momentum from game to game in the playoffs. A guy has a big game but then disappears the next several games.

We all think they won't re-sign St.Louis but will they entertain it if he offers to stay for less?

If they do, they're friggin idiots. I wouldn't let him on this team if he offered to pay the Rangers to let him play.

Maybe next year they wont have to deal with so much expectations so they may get far again. I cant see them winning prez trophy two years in a row.

Or do they just say that's it, let's go in a different direction regardless? I keep bringing Glencross name up but he would be more useful for around the same salary.

I honestly never had a good feeling about this game. Between talk radio and everything else it seemed like there was too much assuming the Rangers would win game seven.

Totally agree. Past game 7 success really means little. Tampa had nothing to lose and just went back to what worked in gm 5.

The way the game played out favored Tampa. Going into the third they knew they just need one to likely end the game.

Tampa played the best defensive game tonight of any team I saw in playoffs this year. Rangers played right into their hands and were not sharp but sometimes you get outplayed. Give Tampa credit.

Tampa without a doubt deserves credit but frankly the Rangers did this in every home game this series. They refused to try and set their own tone on home ice. They allowed Tampa to dictate everything. I knew this team was doomed after how the first two periods played out. It was only a matter of time before Tampa scored and honestly that 1-0 score seemed like 5-0.

The score was the same but the defensive effort tonight was a lot better by TB then G5. I thought Rangers had tons of chances in G5 in the first 1.5 periods but for some unknown reason played on the perimeter. Then in the 2nd and 3rd they had nothing. They got owned on defense all game by TB tonight from the drop of the puck on. Only thing they did well was win face offs.

It doesn't matter were left with another tough end to a season.

This is where a great team wins a game, even coming back down 2 in the 3rd with 18 mins lett.... It was such a disappointment that they couldn't counter TB's gameplan. But 4/7 TB D has been to the Cup, Stralman, Coburn, Carle, Garrison, Hedman (ECF).

AV. Got outcoached and the offense got outplayed.

Chuck, you would agree ... It is what it is 1 year ago today they won game 6... One year from now they could win G6 or 7 for the SCF.... Very disappointed.. The team ran that record and reputation for resiliency 1 game too early IMO... I think they would have beaten Anahiem, coinflip against CHI

It was no different than the lead into game 7 against the Caps where everyone was saying look at the Rangers in game 7, and in elmination games at home. I didn't feel very comfortable into that game 7, and I felt the same into last night. We could win, but we clearly can lose as well. You play with fire and sometimes you will get burned.

And I agree full credit to TB, but to me when you get shutout your last two home games, you go over 140 minutes without scoring at home, and you score 4 goals in 4 home games I can't gush all over TB. That is ridiculous simply put. I am a give the other team credit type of guy, but I am also a look in the mirror type of guy, and when you see those kinds of stats at home in this series you need to look in the mirror a little and say WTF.

My own take is it's a combo. TB played a different style on the road. A pack it in D first style. AND we were tight and too fancy at home. We didn't play with the same us against the world, everything on goal, go hard to the net wreckless attitude at home...that is very clear.

And the PP KILLED us the last two home games...KILLED us. Game 5 was the same as last night. Couple of PP chances where one goal is a HUGE boost and we get NOTHING...not even a sniff. Those are crushers, especially in these types of games. If you get zone time and chances you still can feel okay, but to get NOTHING kills all your MO. Those PP's last night were a disagrace and they killed us and gave TB a lift. We had like 2 shots from way out, and nothing close to a good chance. Real sad.

So now we grind for over 10 months to maybe get back into the playoffs, and maybe try to win a couple of rounds again, and maybe try and make the SCF again. All this on the heels of what we have done the past 2 or 3 seasons...won't be easy after a great record setting season and all the games we have played the past couple of seasons...

Yes, you give the other team credit but it's clear the Rangers were looking to play last night's game way too close to the vest. 1 1 shots after two periods told the story and now they can think about that all summer long. Plus, like you mentioned look at those power play chances where they couldn't generate anything either. That pretty much tells you all you need to know about this team last night.
