I think what really hurt this game was the start of the 4th. We REALLY needed CJ to close the gap until Dame got back in, instead we were down 7(?) when Dame checked back in.

How much money is on this bench? Evan Turner, Allen Crabbe, Aminu, Leonard, ... waste of money. Just see what we spent on these folks and what they produce every night. We can blame DAME and CJ all we want for making lots of money, at least they come to play most nights.
Turner ... WTF is wrong with this guy? Pathetic loss.

Dame is my favorite basketball player. I accept his short comings because I know there's not many other guys in this league who can put up 40 and 50 point games. And we're lucky to have that, as well as his good character for our community; and a good representative for Portland.

But....but....fuck me if those 3 pointers with 15 left on the clock from 30 feet out don't drive me up a fucking wall. I can totally understand the frustration from others when he does that, and it also pisses me right the fuck off when he chokes them away.

Frankly because of where Portland is, playoffs or not really don't matter as far as lotto chances go.
Portland is going to be picking in the middle of the first round regardless with their pick.
With that said, I'm always for more Blazer basketball regardless.

Oh I feel ya. But I guess my point is why complain about it? It's who Dame is. He's the ultimate heat check player. Yes it goes in here and there but what can u do when he takes those hero shots like that? Trust me it frustrates me but hey what can u do

I have to look at the NBA's top salary list to see that Allen Crabbe is actually making more money than Paul George. I keep not believing it's actually true until I see the number again. Man, Olshey fucked that one up.

That 30 footer with just under a minute in the clock really bothered me as well.
But unlike some posters on this forum I get just as annoyed when CJ the very next possession goes 1 on 4 and misses the layup.
To me they're equally bad shots when it's so early in the clock.
Unfortunately people will only think Lillard is the guy who takes bad shots, when CJ does also.

Well.......a GOOD coach would coach him not to do it, or come down on his ass when he does.

But we don't have a good coach. Our coach doesn't even know what a timeout is. So indeed....what can we do?

The positive about Allen's contract? It can be used to fill in salary for a good player like George or Butler.

How? He's like 2nd in 3 point percentage on mind you a BUNCH of attempts. I just think we don't utilize him that much. We should be using him like Reddic.

That's very true. But remember Stars run their teams even over the coaches. Unless your a super bad ass like George Karl no coach would want to step on their stars toes and make that suggestion

    It's the NBA

Well luckily Dame isn't an asshat so I'm sure he'd be open to a coach getting on him for some shots, but I don't really mind the 30+ footers. If he's feelin' it let him decide to let it fly or not.

Frankly there are two players in the league that I think have earned the rep to take those shots.
Curry is one who won an MVP by taking those shots, but also lost the finals by taking those shots.
    Lillard is the other one.
While I personally consider both players taking 30 footers to be bad shots, I can't hate on them for taking them too much. They both have the ability and consistency to hit them.

Bucks are really good defensively, couldn't get a 3 late in the game because of it.
    East better be ready.

Well that's exactly what he's deciding to do. Letting those heroball deep 3s fly

    Warning: Extreme Homerism Incoming

Excluding that silly 30 foot try from Dame (for those defending it, just stop), the Blazers were 4 for 20 from 3 (many wide open shots). And missed 10 free throws. And missed at least 15 shots at the rim (not an exaggeration). And allowed less than 50 in each half. These are all very unusual for this squad.

IMO, they played well enough to win handily if they shot even close to their average in any of these areas. To fall so fall short in all three...call it energy, call it intensity, call it focus, call it bad luck...I don't see it as a reflection on how good the team is or isn't so much as a commentary on how sometimes things just don't go your way.

Always tough to see the Blazers drop a game they could and should have won, but I'm very interested to see how they respond. Fully rested on Thursday, with the Knicks in town coming off a game in Utah tomorrow night, I expect a blowout.
