Maybe really close-in. It's the mid range I don't really like, which is strange for a guy some consider the greatest midrange shooter ever. But sometimes with age we have to adapt.

Carmelo as the greatest midrange shooter ever is strictly urban legend. Career FG% by midrange distance:

    Carmelo
    .347 3-10 ft
    .406 10-16 ft
    .415 16-3P

    Chris Paul
    .488 3-10 ft
    .484 10-16 ft
    .468 16-3P

CP3 is pretty amazing. He's done all that while only being 6'.

for quite a while, there was serious debate about who the best PG was from the 2005 draft, Paul or Deron Williams. Paul is still playing at a fairly elite level 5 years after Williams wore out and retired

there was also debate in the Blazer front office about who was better between CP3 and Martell Webster. We know which side won

what would have made this game much more exciting is if all the West top-7 seeds were in the same position they were, but the Blazers played the Lakers instead of the Nuggets....winner gets 6th or 5th seed

Huge debate on this board as well. A lot of fans were too concerned about his height.

Dame has had three seasons with higher FT rate than this one.

I wonder what percentage of the fans went with Webster because Blazers already had Telfaire

    true

but this season he also has the highest 3ptFGA rate of his career, and, the lowest FGA rate at the rim in his career. Those two factors explain the lower FT rate

I just remember the Damon Stoudamire hate and fans not wanting another "Midget"

Yeah, and he's (or was at least) a very good defender for a PG and he's still quite good at this age. No question in my mind he was always better than Deron Williams. As an opponent he annoys the hell out of me but I respect him & his game so much. He has some of that old-school blood in him. Besides the Blazers I'd love to see him get a ring finally.

That was half the story. He was the first midget no-college, no-semipro draftee in NBA history. And he wasn't considered a good shooter. I opposed it because there was way too much risk. Learn in college how to play against tall guys, not here.

I was talking about CP3. Many Blazer fans did not want to draft him because he was short like Stoudamire.
