Dame can't be on every game. That is why having a "duplication" of his skill set is not a bad thing.

 

Outside of Dame and Nurkic no one on the team puts as much pressure on an opponents defense as CJ. So yeah maybe in numbers they could by committee make up for CJ, and Curry is heck of shooter, but CJ’s ability to break down a defense get a “decent” look on his own, on a broken play is still significant.
The people who have said oh their just as good or better without him, I disagree. Sure at times their passing is better, and seth is probably better defensively. CJ is a special player in his own right though, and flat out not even having that option when you need a basket doesnt make you better.

 

Kanter did really well. Very disappointed in Rodney Hood. He looks like CJ lite out there the second game in a row. jump shot after jump shot. nothing at the rim. not challenging drummond. Dame took it to the basket.

 

You couldn't even hang in my rec league fams.

 

You guys do realize that getting your shot blocked still counts as a field goal attemp, right? So technically even if Bones got blocked all 17 times he would still have gotten 17 shots off, lol.

For the record, Bones could 100% get a clean shot off in an NBA game. If he had the green light to shoot as many times as he wanted he could get 2-17.

I could also get my shot off in the NBA. I've played in leagues with NBA players and held my own. Nowadays I'm too old and slow to do anything else though and I'd get abused on the defensive end.

 

You say anything like that and people who haven't played at a high level will be the first to say "You don't understand what level of basketball that is"... Not only is it false, it's also ironic.

I shouldn't have even replied. This will go nowhere. My close friends Josh and Anthony who I grew up with and played in Europe for a decade have open runs in the summer. Last summer's players who joined us included, Tim Frazier, Jake Layman, Steve Blake, Payton Pritchard, Dame, Wade Baldwin , Freddie Jones, Jordan Bell and a handful of mid 20s PIL guys who currently play in Europe. Let me know this summer if you want an invite. We'll see how you handle yourself.
