Your pessimism is obvious. It is important to note, as Terry said, that the outlook now is as positive as he has seen it. Blazer fans want another Blazer Championship!

If they can't hear you, why do you do it? Does it make you feel better about yourself?

Comparatively speaking, this was a better Meyers no doubt. However, he still has the lapses and over-thinking. Offensively he was good. I have nothing bad to say about that. But defensively he still looked lost, (although one possession against brooks he did really well and brooks made a hell of a shot)... I shouldn't say he always looked lost... but there was times where he let a guard just get too deep. His rotations weren't really great. Compared to Collins who was almost always doing well rotation wise (except one that I recall) ..

I booed Meyers for a couple of boneheaded plays (mainly because it was so quick in succession, I think I got reminded) - but cheered him when he made sound... and more importantly, QUICK decisions.

There were some good meyers... and hopefully he can bring it because we need it the last few games. But we need Ed back in the worst way for more than just putting Meyers back on the bench.

Oh and I don't do it to make myself feel better. I know it doesn't affect the players. lol. I'm smarter than all that. I just did it because it's a human reaction based on events happening that were of a downward trend, thus my executive function in my brain reasoned that putting my lips in such a fashion as to make the words "boo" come out crisply and cleanly needed to happen.

Also, for the record - the rest of the row with me booed, along with some others.

I liked his play tonight. He actually played around the basket, played solid D, set solid screens, and made some GREAT passes.

I still agree his Kobe face is horrible tho. :dunno:

Booing your own players, especially if you are leading or joining in with others, is definitely harmful to the Blazers and without question can be heard on the floor. You get a different perspective on fan sounds when you are on the floor than you can imagine when you are in the seats.

While it is normal to boo terrible calls by the zebras or poor plays by the opponents, it doesn't make sense for Blazer fans to boo Blazers, which will only tear them down.

I guess I'm old school. I save my booing for the refs and the other team. I would never get any satisfaction out of booing a player on my own team. I may get frustrated when they play poorly, but rather than boo, I hope for improvement. Lack of effort and lack of improvement are my two biggest pet peeves.

This year, in his very limited minutes, I have seen both effort and improvement from Meyers. He's still not perfect, but that effort and improvement has earned my support, not my boos.

Meyers should learn the lesson I taught mine:

As soon as you leave this house, no one gives a FUCK about you.

I explained what I booed for. I cheered him as well. We can do both.

His offensive game today was superb. I cheered that. I cheered the "GIVE ME THAT SHIT" rebound, and his quick decisions.

It probably didn't help that I didn't say this stuff until now (though I said it in general terms) cause I saw the old Meyers, but eh. You live and learn.

It's okay. I did both. Because we can, and it doesn't make us any less of a fan. Nor does it make you less of a fan for not booing... it's all about outlets, my friend.

And his answers to the post game interview questions seem to go on forever, but I was willing to cut him some slack tonight. It was his first meaningful minutes since December 11, and he made a positive contribution to a win. He really seemed to enjoy being out there tonight and I think that spilled over into his post game comments.

Plus, he really hasn't done many post game interviews this season. He had a lot of lost time to make up for.

I know Grizzlies were an easy opposition but I feel our first team is already good enough to go toe to toe with anybody in the league. It’s now the time to address our bench issues, we were without Harkless and Davis but still the players that played off the bench in this game were largely the ones who would get significant minutes anyway - our main back up point guard, shooting guard and a power forward. Aside from Meyers they all ended up with abysmal +/- which is mainly on Shabazz and Pat.

There was a period of time when Napier looked like one of the best second string point guards in the league but he has regressed badly over the last few weeks. If he carries on playing like this I would actually entertain the idea of giving his minutes to Baldwin in the dead rubber games this week to see what he can do.

I don’t think Pat has significant potential and over the last two months he has probably played himself of any good deal he might have got in the offseason.

I wouldn’t mind picking up a few veterans and cheap young players like VanVleet in the offseason. Strong bench will be key to building on this seasons success next year.
