You keep saying you're impartial but almost all of your posts in regards to Stotts is defending him and why "coaching doesn't matter."

 

If I said I'm impartial (didn't think I did), I probably used the wrong word. Neither of us are impartial, we're fans.

I do challenge theories that use specific criteria that "prove" Stotts sucks. I'm assuming people don't only post things on here to have people agree with them, I certainly don't mind being challenged, and you've proven you're open to a good debate for the most part as well!

 

where we disagree is that I think 8+ years and 712 games of Stotts establishes what his strengths and weaknesses are. That the Blazers have become static and stagnant under Stotts. He's not going to surprise us on defense or on offense. He won't hold his core players accountable. I look at that and say it's long past time for a change

as far as the roster issues, I've been calling for Olshey to be fired for 4-5 years

 

I agree it would be crazy to think Stotts would be a different coach after 8 years. I don't think 7 straight playoff appearance and 4 series wins is unacceptable given the talent.

Nope Sir, you are the one who should learn to pay attention to the game. Terry Stott's drop defensive scheme was stil the same, they hit 18/41 threes which is about 44%. And they probably missed 5-10 open ones. We just happened to play the worst team in the league so i take the W but you won't go far with that in the Playoffs. We stil have only one defensive scheme (which sucks in 90% btw) and that's going to be a big issue come playoff time

And to claim I need to pay attention during the games...... haven't missed one since the late 90s......and trust me, I'm watching.

 

These are the statements that make me look like a Stotts apologist. In reality, I'm just putting out things that are not factual.

Go back and watch the Houston games from last year and compare that to our defense against the Lakers this year and telling me those are the same defensive schemes. They are not.

 

Isn’t this a personal attack? Reading the rules, isn’t it attack the post but not the poster?

Funniest part of this post to me is that it is almost word for word from what another poster says almost nightly on another venue. He happens to be the same person who you flat out copied like two games ago and got called out for it.

At least try to come up with something relatively original or just admit you are actually that poster if that is the case.

Even worse is that your idea of what is happening on the court is almost completely wrong but don't let that stop you. Keep saying it until people agree with you.

 

People come across as “an apologist” if they reply to a post that slams Stotts with anything that isn’t in line with that, people think we love Stotts.

It don't matter what defense you throw out it really comes down to are we active by doing it by getting hands in passing lanes and by angles. away from the offense players and when you challenge the shooter with your hand up so they don't have clear look. You also you must be able be a good defense rebound team. I haven't looked up how many offense rebounds we giving up per game but he going to be pretty close 10 or more and they score that's 20 plus points. Defense takes a lot energy and effort you got to want to do it. The you must work as a team because it's really hard shut down someone by yourself.

 

This was not the first, nor will it be the last, but this is how it goes. I do not take his attacks on my character personally. I understand that the way I make my points can be frustrating and people have different ways of responding when they're frustrated.

I would love if we could strongly disagree about our positions and not attack each other directly as I think it would allow many of the lurkers around here to feel more comfortable to express their opinions. I'm sure my style of posting wears on people as well (especially those who don't like data) and I'm trying to be more gentle.

KJ, i'm not Eric lol. Just because we have the same opinion about Stotts doesn't mean we are the same person keep in mind that english is not my first language, otherwise i would have said it in my own words.
