    2. Sign & Trade Mike James. To Who? Seattle of course, we have a gagillion Luke Ridnour and Earl Watson lovers, so this is a dream come true for them but the sad part is neither of them would be coming over in my theory. Sign James to a 20 Million Three Year Deal around 6-7 Million each year, and then ship to Seattle for Danny Fortson [Someone who brings toughness and wants out of seattle, not to mention he can play center] and a draft pick in next years draft.

    </div>

There are never any sign & trade deals with players who don't command max money. The reason guys like Joe Johnson, Eddie Curry, Kenyon Martin, Tracy Mcgrady sign with their original teams is because the team with their bird rights can offer them more money than any of the other teams. Theorectically a sign and trade could happen if a team was over the cap and wanted Mike James that badly. But in practice i don't think this has happned. Correct me of if im wrong. I think its either we sign M. James and keep him or lose him in Free Agency.

sign and trades of non elite players can and and do happen.

    Jamal Crawford for example.

With regard to Crawfords situation, he was a restricted FA therefore the bulls had the right to match any offer by the knicks. Secondly, the most any team could offer Crawford was a contract of 4.5 million a year (one the bulls would no doubt of match), unless crawford signed with the bulls who he could offer him more money and more years do to bird rights, 7yrs 56 million to be exact. so the only feasble way for the knicks to aquire crawford was through a sign & trade. As you can see Crawfords situation is not really relevant or comprable to that Mike James and the Raptors.

Ya its not really, though a team over the cap that really wants him would still have to talk sign and trade to aquire him. Also even though he's not a restricted free agent the Raptors could still play some bidding wars with possible suiters. I think the Raps will try to get him back at a fair price, and the more teams interested the higher the price will likely go.

Anyways..likely he'll be signed else where as a free agent, unless no one picks him up and we get him on the cheap (4mill). But if i know Isiah he'll be looking for what he feels his team really needs...which will end up being a shot-happy PG. Well..at least this one plays defence.

Luke Ridnour, Yes. Danny Fortson, No. He's out of shape and foul-happy.

How about Ben Gordon? You guys think Colangelo can get this guy here. I think he would be a great fit, another UCONN player and can really bring that 3pt quality the Raps have always had.

    danny fortson
thought he threatened to retire or something...

he is a good offensive rebounder but he fouls too much

regarding gordon i think you are dreaming
he is probably their most clutch player since you know who

How about Marcus Williams? Another UConn product. Calhoun says he has amazing passing abilities. People question his worth ethic and character. Sound familiar ??

He will be a mid 1st rounder, don't see the Raps getting him.

Everybody expected CV31 to be a mid rounder too.. So you never know what may happen.

this is a pretty weak draft
    i would trade to like a top 10 with toronto's top 5
and get Roy or Foye (depends on what happens to mike james/peterson)
and get either cash or some other draft picks along the way

I don't see anything happening to Peterson. Mike James is the only key player the Raps have on the hot seat. I think the Raps should either draft the best possible player at 4 or 5 or 6...or just trade the pick altogether for a decent veteran player.
