I gotta give it up to the lakers. Kobe shot horribly and they still won. But seriously, Chris Mihm? ... Chris Mihm? That is breaking my brain. Thats not gonna happen a lot.

That's what everyone said about Ben Wallace also.

    "Ben Wallace? ... Ben Wallace?"

I would rather have Mihm than Shaq. A better free throw shooter, better attitude, and a guy that will go up for a block every opportunity...and stays in shape? I must be dreaming.

Lakers looked good tonight. We shouldn't make too much out of one game, but I do think the Laker's bench is deeper than many expected. Brian Cook is a major upgrade over Medvedenko, and Atkins/Brown is much better than the point guard situation they had last year.

I really liked how the Lakers pushed the ball up the court, and how they shared the ball as a team. Kobe played very unselfishly, particular in the first half, which is a good sign. Kobe didn't shoot great, but he still was efficient because he got to the line so frequently and converted. If the Lakers play like this throughout the season, they may beat Sacremento for the division title.

Can you honestly say that. I know Mihm hasn't really been given minutes in his career but seriously, the only reason he got all those points is because Kobe was being double teamed. Game plan by Rudy T. undoubtedly. Do you truly think that you would be better off with Mihm than Shaq? If you switched their attitudes but kept all the numbers, I think you would rather have Shaq. Take any athlete getting paid a rediculous amount of money and you will have an attitude. Latrell, Cassell, Z-Bo, take your pick of athlete in any sport and there will be few exceptions to this rule.

Come on guys, can we please be honest with each other here? We should all know better than to judge a player after a single game, good or bad. But I will respect the fact that you like Mihm better than Shaq, because it's opinion.

haha. the topic has shifted again. He are non-laker fans making excuses again. Why cant we just say great game for once? I thought the Lakers played great today. Mihm played his heart out. I hope it continues. I felt really bad though that Lenard went down. He'll be out for sometime.

Who made an excuse? Rudy T. is a genius and Mihm had a good game. Nobody said the Nuggets threw the game or played badly. This begs the question, What's an excuse? All I did was question an opinion. I'm sorry that I may have shifted the topic. Bottom line: Lakers killed. And that hurts me to say.

It's one game. Don't celebrate prematurely. One game is never doing well. Wait and see if they can roll of 3 or 4 in a row against upper tier teams before you talk like that.

yes, its a bit pre-mature, but the Lakers confidence has carried over from the pre-season to the regular season. As I also mentioned, we Laker fans have been hearing it all off-season about how terrible this team was. It doesn't seem that way. The Lakers may not have what it takes to win a championship yet, but they will compete with the best, and wont just roll over and die. I can guarantee you that.

Terrible in comparison to the west. Compared to where the Lakers were last year and where they are this year they are terrible. Last years team would beat this years team 75% of the time. The west has too high of standards. If they were in the East, they would be a third or fourth seed depending on the division. And the only team that rolls over and dies are the Atlanta Hawks.

I saw the highlights of the game on NBA TV, Kobe had a sick block on Andre Miller so this is what happened someone fromt the nuggets got a board or a steal they whip the ball down to Andre who's cherry picking and is already in the key Kobe sprints as fast as I've ever seen him go and Andre goes up for a lay up then BAM!! Kobe swats the shot against the backboard. Lakers won I think 87-79, not sure of the score but Lakers won.

Why didnt RudyT let Shasha play? I would've liked to see him play a bit with the big lead.

^ I don't think he thinks Sasha is ready yet. The dude will eventually hit the bench and get in "NBA shape" so he can bang with the other point guards.

yeah! the lakers were great last night!! i heard some people say that caron and mihm were good but i never thought them to be this good!! [IMG]

this was me during the whole game -----> [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

and where are all the people that say that kobe is selfish?? huh where?? kobe may shot a low % but his passes were gold! [IMG] his passes led to an assist by other players. LA really showed the non believers last night, it wasnt only kobe that proved them wrong but it was the whole team doing their best.

mihm is god!!! [IMG] he can really score in the down low. lakers outnumbered denver in points in the paint. all because of mihm.

butler has a really good range,he also hit a 3. he really impressed me a lot with his shooting. [IMG]

cook.... wtf did cook eat this season? all of the sudden he's hitting jump shots like crazy. he's really come a long way from last season [IMG]

the lakers were great tonight, the intensity they had was really...err..intense!! they could have won by 20 if they hadnt slacked off in the final 5 minutes of the game. i know this is just one game, but with the way they played tonight they looked as if the knew what to do and i think were gonna see more of last night in this season.

I'll say one thing: Kobe has really put some confidence in this team. Most all of these "bums" that everyone was downgrading are playing great, and Kobe is distributing the ball. I love it.

It was a great win for the Lakers.Kobe looked awesome as always, and this new look Laker team has potential to go farther than what most people think they will go this year.

Rudy T's debut as Coach for the Lakers was great.sounds like things look great for the Lakers this year.

Man that was a beautiful game I loved every single minute of it. Except when voshon lenard got hurt. But besides that just about everything was great. I think somone mentioned one grey area being lamar odom and him still searching for his role in this team. I would beg to differ, I think it's more about him finding his offensive oppurtunities. I think he has basically grapsed his overall role. And that is to give us some hustle play, and intensity playing defense and rebounding. Don't forget he led the lakers in rebounding with 13 laqst night so I know that is definetly one role they will look for his support. Not only that but he got it in only 25 mins due to early foul trouble. I think he will eventually start getting some isolations and such, remember rudy T. said that there not even close to putting in everything yet.

Now chris mihm showed me something now granted I don't think he will be able to do that every night but I do expect him to be a consistent scorer at around proably 15-18 a game. Caron Butler did his job just making sure that the other team realized taht kobe is not the only slasher on the floor. And why is everyone so surprised about Brian cook? Doug Collins comments made me wonder how exactly you can be as knowledgable about basketball and be an announcer and not known about cooks recent development of his shot. I mean those guys are always giving nice little info about the players you don't normally hear about how they worked hard during off season etc.

And finally Kobe did a great job in leading last night. I thought nothing else was a better example then after he turned the ball over and hustled back down the floor to block the shot. The whole arena I think were kinda surprised, me as well as I haven't seen kobe hustle that hard since the playoffs. He then got a nice applause of approval from the crowd and his teamates. Aother thing I thought was crucial was Kobe getting to the line. He knows he's gonna be doubled this year so he needs to find other ways of scoring besides taking alot of jumpshots and threes. And I think he prepared well bulking up over the off-season so he can take more hits and get to the free throw line. Also his passing was great, if Mihm had handled his shot selection a little better as in knowing when to dunk and when to lay it up kobe could have hit double digit assists. By the way one of Kobes quiet stats were his three blocks I think that they failed to mention at the end of the game (how often does any guard get three blocks?)

Overall great game even tho Denver made horrible slot selections. They will be much better by years end. But the lakers defense was intense and ready last night. I can't wait to see them against Utah. And is it just me or does Tierre Brown scare you when he is handling the ball?
