As you can see if you continue on, shapecity has given me a good template to do game previews with. I can't yet get the template to display here though. As soon as I learn how to do it, I'll have good looking previews for Nuggets games. And I am going to try like heck to get the previews out at least 18 hours before every tip-off.

George Karl starts the new season with a newfound respect for defense, and starts Diawara instead of Kleiza or Wafer. Durant gets a golden opportunity in his first pro game to do some damage against the Nuggets reserve swingman, who all Nuggets fans are worried could have a total disaster offensively. Will Durant be able to do some serious damage against Diawara?

[*]Distribute the Ball- Iverson needs to have a huge assists night to get the Spurs series monkey off his and the team's back. Aside from Melo, Iverson needs to be looking especially for Martin, Linas Kleiza, and Von Wafer. With 3 Nuggets guards out, I don't see how even George Karl can avoid playing Wafer, who had a decent preseason and should have a good opportunity here.
[*]Make Sure Durant Doesn't Run Wild and Contain Wilcox Up Front- If the Nuggets can't handle the Sonics defensively tonight, it would be a sign that we could be in for a long, miserable season.

[*]Contain & Limit Melo as Much as Possible - This is always one of the keys for any opponent of the Nuggets. Under the Karl regime, Melo is alot more reluctant to shoot if double teamed than he used to be, so you can always double team him if all else fails.
[*]Go After Iverson- Try to rattle Iverson by getting him into foul trouble and by pressuring him to turn it over. If you can rattle him enough, he will start resorting to the shoot first, pass later mentality, which would be very dangerous for the Nuggets.
[*]Give Durant a Total Green Light - Tell Durant to shoot at will. Diawara may be decent on defense but it is questionable that he can be very effective against Durant. The side benefit of this is that, even if the Sonics lose, they will have given their upcoming star a great introduction to playing in the NBA.

I'm not going to predict a score, but I'll predict the flow of the game. This is almost certainly going to be a high scoring game, and it will probably be a very high scoring game. The Nuggets should be able to win easily in theory, but in practice they almost never win easily. The Nuggets are depending on Yakhouba Diawara to slow down Kevin Durant and the Sonics are hopeful that Jeff Green, with help from Wilcox, Collison, and even Durant can contain Carmelo Anthony. The Nuggets will very likely have a double digit lead at the half, but the Sonics will close it to single digits by the mid-4th quarter. Iverson and Melo need to pace themselves and be ready to close down the Sonics in the second half of the 4th.

I was looking for this game thread. Seattle's up 1 at the moment, very surprising. Delonte's playing good, and Damien's doing great on offense, surprisingly.

Looks like Anthony's carrying this team on offense, and Iverson has gone cold. Diawara has done good in his start, and Camby's putting up his usual solid defensive stats.

I didn't expect this to be such a close game. It's either really good for Seattle, or really bad for Denver.
