<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Sixerholic:</div><div class="quote_post">Webber: 22 points, 6 rebs, 1 block Denver's frontcourt isn't looking so athletic now. Sixers lead 54-52 at Half.</div> Kenyon Martin and Marcus Camby did not play.(Camby only played 6 minutes) --- But was I on point or what? lol I got the complete opposite of what I predicted. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Iverson will struggle. Camby will be a nightmare for him and he will settle for jumpshots. Iguodala and Korver will have huge games. Webber will struggle against an athletic frontcourt. Demaar Johnson, Marcus Camby and Kenyon Martin(if he plays) will come up big. Melo will do a little below average. and despite a 20 and 20 night from Camby, the Sixers will win this when due to Iguodala and Korver's huge games. Sammy and Shav will make some key plays in the 4th. In a nutshell, this will be the "Night of the Youngins''"</div> As for the game, the Sixers kept a lead for majority of the game(4-6 point leads) until the final seconds where it was de-ja-vu all over again by letting the opposition come back. But luckily for us, Iverson scored 7 points in the final three minutes. Now while he made the big shot and made huge plays, I'd personally give the game ball to Webber. He shot very well, rebounded the ball great and made some key assists. Just 3 assists shy of a triple double. With this win we now move to 13-0 when out-rebounding the opponent. Btw, did anybody notice that we had 15 blocked shots as a team?! Iverson even got into the mix with a block of his own. But sadly I'm going to end this post not so good note... Iverson appeared to have sprained his left ankle and in the postgame he mentioned that it bothered him a lot, and during the interview he indicated that it's bothering him even more. This is not good considering that we have a game tonight. I'm sure AI will give it a go(I hope not) but his speed is a big part of his game and if he can't move the way he wants to he will obviously struggle, but then again we do play the Blazers tonight.
I understand that Carmelo was having a huge night, but all those points he scored seemed to come easy because he was getting into the lane at will. That is what I'm talking about when it comes to defense, the 76ers are not geling yet. The sign of a good defensive team that knows how to play with each other is a team that steps in front of a player who beats their man and is in the paint. What I mean is help defense. Once this team starts to learn defense better, hopefully players won't be able to score easy bucket, after easy bucket in the paint like they have been doign all year. This game really marks something intersting, LeBron, Wade, and Carmelo have all torched the 76ers this year in the paint. Now, I am kind of nervous for tonights game against Portland. Sebastian Telfair is one of those players who likes to penetrate and make plays for his team. Look out for Bassy tonight.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Avery:</div><div class="quote_post">This will be a very tight game. Rebounding of course will be the key. Here are some quick predictions I have for tonights game. Iverson will struggle. Camby will be a nightmare for him and he will settle for jumpshots. Iguodala and Korver will have huge games. Webber will struggle against an athletic frontcourt. Demaar Johnson, Marcus Camby and Kenyon Martin(if he plays) will come up big. We won this because of... 1. Iversons terrific game winner. 2. The Sixers DOMINATED the offensive glass. Absolutely a great rebounding effort by the Sixers. Rebounding wins games. Sixers will learn this. 3. Webber dominating every aspect of the game. 4. Hustle! Who saw that steal and dive by Iverson?! Webber really deserves to be an all-star this year.
