Hehe, I'm really glad this game didn't mean a damn thing ... but there were a couple of bright spots in Greg, LMA, Batum and .... ummm ... Rudy at times, Sergio wasn't completely horrible. But damn they've got some work to do.
IT sucks to see Rudy get hurt, but it was pretty awesome when the fans started chanting "Rudy, Rudy, Rudy!" Bet it makes him feel good to know hes loved
Besides with Bayless you don't EXACTLY NEED him to play PG exclusively. Don't we want Roy with the ball in his hands at the end of the games? Bayless has the potential to be worlds better than Jack at scoring.
Sergio to me dominated Bayless as a PG for the second straight game. All the turnovers by our guards was just brutal to watch. Our defense has issues. Batum doesn't look like an NBDL player, or like a 19 year old. He was the biggest positive to me tonight. The halftime duo is still the worst in the NBA. Seriously... they brought them back for another year?... Wow. We need Roy. Outlaw doesn't play well with the starters. Hopefully it's just conditioning but he didn't contribute anything it seemed other than shot attempts. I guess we're going to keep losing one player every pre-season game. At this point I won't recognize anyone on the floor by mid November... wtf
Seconded ... his biggest issue was taking care of the ball and trying to dump it into Joel while he's on the move ... if that's LMA or Greg then maybe it works out a little better. I'm glad they struggled a little bit; it's not the worst thing to step on your own dick once in awhile to get an idea of what you need to work on. Clearly this team leans pretty heavily on Brandon to not only calm them down on the court but to initiate the offense efficiently and mostly mistake free.
I've never been a fan of combo guards...they are confused whether they want to score or pass. CAn't wait for Blake to come back and get some stability to the point.
No Roy, no Frye, no Blake, no Webs, Significant minutes for Jackson, Diogu and Batum. Outlaw couldn't throw it in the ocean. I'm not sweating this one.
I was thinking the same thing, but he actually managed 3 blocks, 4 boards, and a steal ... but his shot was waaaaay off tonight, which made his presence on the court feel like a waste of space ... he defintely still had a shitty game.
No. Both are shooting guards. I like a pure point guard. one who looks to rack up assists, not score the basketball. Not saying they shouldn't score...but its clear to me that Bayless is not a PG. He's an undersized shooting guard. I just can't see him running an offense....he is an offensive player, but a floor general? I don't know about that.
Do we not want the ball in Roy's hands? Roy is plenty capable of playing PG and letting Bayless play SG on offense. Bayless is also perfectly capable of playing PG. Give him some slack, like I've said, PG's usually take some time.
