I like Claver's potential better than Barton's moving forward. I think Will's skillset is easily obtainable with any above average wing in the D-League, but Vic's intangibles aren't as easy to find. He seems to be a good glue guy for the bench.
I think Leonard compares favorably to Spencer Hawes and BJ Mullens. And it's not just because he's white. bleh I was hoping for Chandler or McGee instead.
Hawes is and has always been a pretty decent defensive center. Mullens is probably a good comparison though. Per 36 of 14/8/1 in his 4th year. Defensive rating of 110. Maybe Leonard slightly more upside?
Slightly more upside? So, you actually think Leonard will get worse over the next three seasons? Mullens has an FG% of .385 from the field this season and is shooting .646 from the line. He's shot less than .400 in three of his four seasons. Leonard, the totally raw rookie, is shooting .546 from the field and .809 from the line. It's funny that you mention the 4th year Mullens has the same 110 DRtg as the rookie Leonard, but completely neglect to mention that Rookie Leonard's 115 ORtg totally destroys 4th year Mullen's ORtg of 94. Guess that just doesn't support your whitey == whitey agenda. Slightly more upside, yeah right. Leonard is already better than Mullens. BNM
What the hell are you talking about? Leonard averages 11/7/1 Per 36 I just said I thought he would average slightly more than 14/8/1....Isn't that better? Who has the agenda?
The game was what we all should have expected. What struck me though watching the game, and again it's no surprise, just frustrating, was just how fucking awful NBA officiating is. Giving the refs the benefit of the doubt (and I have a lot of doubt from watching farcical NBA officiating over the years), the foul calling in an NBA game is completely random (if not rigged). There were easily a half-dozen times in that game where a Blazers offensive player was openly raped, with no call, and within 10-12 seconds a completely phantom and random foul was called on a Blazers player on the other end. I'm a Blazers homer so I wasn't trying to keep score for the other team, but jesus it just looked like another NBA game where the refs were taking no chances. Err, I mean where the foul calling was just completely random. Sometimes I wish I could quit this basketball jones, but if the rigged 2000 and 2002 playoffs didn't do it, nothing will.
Not if it comes with a .385 FG%, a .646 FT% and a ORtg of 94. Please explain how that's better than .546, .809 and 115. BNM
So basically, Leonard scoring less is much better because he's also shooting half as much. I can dig it. The last thing you need is a volume shooter at center!
It's not, but I never said it was. I really don't understand what is happening right now? I also wasn't the one who compared him to Mullens. That was someone else. I simply said I think his ppg, rpg and bpg will be similar to Mullens which were 14/8/1 Per 36. I really don' tget your anger, but oh well?
What anger? Why do you assume someone that disagrees with you, and provides evidence to support that differing opinion, is angry? You're the one that immediately jumped to profanity as soon as I dared disagree with you. Have a nice day, BNM
I guess I still don't understand what you disagree with? Do you disagree that Leonard will get better? That's all I said
I think you're both looking at different aspects of the comparison to BJ Mullens. One one side, the raw per 36 numbers looks good, but on the other hand, the FG%, PER, ORtg are all rotten underneath, so that doesn't compute for BNM. Anyway, I like the 14/8/1 as a set of numbers, but the comparison to BJ Mullens as an overall player is not accurate because of what BNM has shown.
I just thought of that comparison because he's a C who doesn't play much D, can't block shots, can't rebound that well, mainly just shoots Js, and has no real post moves. Hawes might be a slightly better defender, but not much of a rim protector either.
