One think Blake also did that Miller didn't was almost/try to give the Clippers the lead/victory. Of course, overall I felt Blake did better tonight as well, but why do we keep using Blake as the inbounder. There is two things he should never ever being doing in the fourth that is being at the free throw line and inbounding.
And your not putting Miller down? Hmmm. Well that isn't a fact it's your opinion. In my original post I didn't say a word about Bayless. You brought him up. My post was a reply about the comparision of Blake and Miller. I didn't say Bayless didn't do well tonite. I pointed out I could put down part of his game, but he also did well and pointed out how a lot of posters seem to think they have to put down other players in defense of their player which you seem to be doing now even though you weren't putting him down supposely.
I agree here. Sometimes it's not all about stats. It's what the team gets done as a whole when you're on the floor, and I think the team got more accomplished with Blake on the floor tonight than Miller. Obviously you can say take a look at who else was on the floor at the time. Well, Miller is a starter, plays with the starters, and I still felt like the team did better with Blake on the floor tonight than Miller. Other nights, the Blazers look better with Miller than Blake. But tonight, Blake was the better of the two.
Cool. I'm happy we go tthe win. You know teams are coming in here looking at all our injuries and thinking they can get a win so they are going to play better just because they think they have a chance.
BLANKY is 100% for the season in 4th quarter clutch time (up/down by 5 or less, <5 minutes). http://www.82games.com/0910/09POR1.HTM
Ya, I agree. That's why I said I'm glad we have both of them. Bayless too. I just don't see why some people seem the need to put down one or the other to defend the player they like better. I think some feel they are just coming to the defense of one so attacks the other.
Kaman was using the entire Blazer front court as his tampon. I'm amazed they didn't go to him every time. He was automatic. I love the win. I love seeing our future back court (Roy and Bayless) step it up with Aldridge out. But I think this win mostly comes from the Clippers' stupidity for not taking it inside more, specifically to Kaman.
He's 3-3 FTs under 5 mins to play. Not a large sample. If I read it right he also has either 2 or I think 4 TOs during the same time.
I never said it was a large sample. I said he's 100%. Perhaps he needs to play more at the end of close games. I'm still amazed that BLANKY'S win % stays stable while off the bench, while Miller's has decreased as a starter.
Might be his game doesn't tend to draw many fouls. That was for being ahead or behind by 5 so it wouldn't be the other team would have to foul and generally that doesn't happen until less than 24 secs left.
Back from the game. Good victory, I know the Clips can surprise and all, but from the Blazer perspective, you got win these home games. I get the loss to the sixers, but can't loss two at home because of effort. Couple of takes (the tickets I had tonight were right behind the vistor's bench): Lucas and Howard were talking it up before and during the game (friendly banter way). It was fun to watch those two interact all game. Telfair was all smiles and acknowledged a few fans cheering his name Camby always looks bigger in person than on TV to me . . . thought he would have a good game but he didn't look very good to me tonight (haven't looked at the stats yet) Before the game the Clip team looked loose and enjoyed playing with each other (almost cocky). I thought it was trouble for the Blazers . . . guess not. Ricky is still Ricky I don't know if the camera caught Lucas on the bench acting like a cheerleader. Some guy was heckling Lucas pretty hard but Lucas never reacted and kept on being animated (fan shouted that he should have pink pom poms) Anyways it should be interesting looking at the stats and reading the game thread, my general take coming back from the game is . . . Roy is the man.
Who the fuck would have the cold brass balls to heckle The Enforcer?! The man's kicking cancer's ass, and he's getting heckled by some jackoff with enough cash to sit near a Blazer with his name in the rafters? Fuck that noise. I'd have beat him down.
