If Aldridge has an average (for him) game, it opens up everything else, and we kill them.

Good thing this only counts as one loss.

 

That is indeed a peculiar talent he has. If he went I'd miss his shooting but I sure as shit wouldn't miss anything else about him.

 

I know. Don't you love meaningless stats? Like the "first to 100 wins" for example. It's like saying, if you outscore your opponent you win.

 

This run of games is reminding me of when Batum was playing injured last season before he finally shut it down. And that's not good.

 

God point -- Batum has a good game about every four games and is having these kind of duds often.

 

OTOH: In this case, working backward, it's like saying: When Mo doesn't suck, we win!

Gee, that is high praise.

 

Who knew that when your 6th man did well then the team would likely do well?

 

So many players contributed to this loss, it's impossible to bag on any one of them. Just have to move on.

8th game in 12 days is bound to catch up with a team. Hopefully they get tomorrow off completely before Tuesday night's game.

 

Yes. I would freak out and shit my pants because the team lacked energy in the 2nd half of their 8th game in 12 days.

 

I like the job Barrett does, and think Portland is very lucky to have him as the Blazer play-by-play announcer.

 

This is what happens when I miss a game thread. Sorry.

● Robinson has no offense that doesn’t involve being directly under the rim. If it’s not instinctive, and he’s forced to improvise, chances are he will make a very poor decision, and probably turn the ball over.

● Mo reaches too much on defense and gets called for a foul every time.

● Freeland and Lopez were the lone bright spots in a horrible game, although I have to give Wes credit for taking it to the rim and playing tough inside.

● Portland really had no business leading going into the half, so that’s a good thing too I suppose. They looked whipped from the tip.

Still have doubts as to who the MVP of the Blazers is? When LA struggles, the Blazers have little chance to win. Shooting 2-14 is his worst game of the season. LA had a double-double, but that’s says more about how valuable LA is when 10pts/11reb is his worst game of the season. Picking up 3 fouls in the first 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter, and a technical instigated by Shit Brick Bogut, certainly didn’t help him get going.

Too many Portland missed shots (.337 FG% /.286 3P%) and way too many really lazy, unforced turnovers. This game had little to do with GS’s defense, and more to do with tired Blazer legs and brains (12 pts in the 3rd and 19 pts in the 4th). Inconsistent officiating just added insult to injury. GS drew 8 fouls and forced 7 turnovers in the 3rd quarter alone. This is what happens when your team is dead tired and nothing goes their way.

GS had lost 5 of their last 7 games before tonight. This was GS’s 2nd game played in 6 nights, against Portland team playing the 2nd game of a back-to-back and 7th game in 10 nights. This was easily Portland’s worst game of the year – just bad basketball. There nothing to take away from this game. Toss it and move on.

● Next two games vs GS are in Portland, neither are the 2nd of a back-to-backs for GS - funny how it always seems to work out that way.

● And I hope Kevin Love misses the rest of the season from eating too much Taco Bell. Want to be popular in sports? Get a commercial deal.

 

No big deal. Every team has nights like this during an 82 game season.

Economic thinking. Put this one behind us and move on to the next game.

 

A positive: the crowd gets chicken nuggets from Jack in the Box if their opponent shoots less than 75% from the FT line. It was exciting for them early on but then we started hitting most of them and stopped them from getting the free chicken nuggets.

Since the 17th of January, they have played 7 games with only the 19th, 22, and 24th off.

Rather unusual to stuff that many games into 10 days isn't it?

 

I always feel like we get jobbed by the schedulers.
