Rios, Hill lead Blue Jays to win over slumping Yankees

TORONTO 3, NY YANKEES 2
TORONTO (Ticker) -- Alex Rios and the Toronto Blue Jays addedto the New York Yankees' misery, despite the best efforts ofAndy Pettitte.

Rios hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to givethe Toronto Blue Jays a 3-2 victory over the struggling Yankeeson Tuesday.

Aaron Hill had two hits and recorded the first straight steal ofhome by a Blue Jays' player in six years, in helping them totheir fifth straight home win.

Pettitte, who is 65-30 following a Yankees' loss, allowed threeruns - one earned - and six hits in 7 1/3 innings. He pitchedat least seven innings for the fifth straight start.

Adam Lind led off the eighth with a double to left-center over
Johnny Damon's head and was sacrificed to third by John
McDonald. Pettitte (3-4) was then relieved by Scott Proctor, who allowed the sacrifice fly to Rios to medium center field.

Jeremy Accardo (1-0) pitched 1 2/3 innings for his first win ofthe season, as the Blue Jays have won each of the first threemeetings with the Yankees this season.

Jason Giambi tied the game at 1-1 with his seventh homer of theseason off Scott Downs for the Yankees, who have lost fivestraight and scored three runs or less in 13 of their last 18games.

The Yankees were frustrated by converted reliever Shaun Marcumup until that point. Marcum allowed just two hits in six inningswith six strikeouts.

New York failed to come up with the clutch hit, going 1-for-7with runners in scoring position.
