Metcalf's huge day sparks Rangers to sweep of Mariners <h3>TEXAS 4, SEATTLE 3</h3>ARLINGTON, Texas (Ticker) -- Rookie Travis Metcalf went 4-for-4and hit a go-ahead double in the eighth inning to help the TexasRangers to a 4-3 victory and a doubleheader sweep of theSeattle Mariners on Tuesday night. Metcalf, who finished a homer shy of the cycle, hit a 0-1 pitchfrom Chris Reitsma off the wall in left field to plate GeraldLaird with the go-ahead run. Laird led off the eighth with a single off Reitsma (0-2) and wassacrificed by rookie Ramon Vazquez before Metcalf came throughwith the clutch hit. Metcalf went 1-for-3 in the opener. The Seattle bullpen, which came into the game with a 20-5 recordand the fifth-best ERA in the majors, was upstaged by theRangers' bullpen. C.J.
