MACAO (Ticker) -- Dwight Howard provided the first-halfinspiration, while Carlos Arroyo finished with 25 points andnine assists as the Orlando Magic easily overcame ChinaAll-Stars, 116-92, in the China Games at the Venetian Arena inMacau on Thursday.


Howard, who scored 31 points in a 90-86 preseason triumph overthe Cleveland Cavaliers in Shanghai on Wednesday, only played 14minutes but still recorded 12 points and picked up fourrebounds as Orlando posted a comfortable victory over theAll-Stars.


The 6-11 center, who scored all his points in the first half,shot 4-of-7 from the field and converted four of seven freethrows. Arroyo made 9-of-15 shots to go along with 5-of-5effort from the charity stripe.


The Magic were again playing without Rashard Lewis, as therecently acquired forward was still suffering from a sprainedankle.


It was the China All-Stars who took command early on, as WangZhizhi sinking a couple of 3-pointers as the home sideestablished a 12-6 lead.


Zhizhi played five seasons with three NBA teams starting withthe Dallas Mavericks in 2000-01.


But that was as good as it got for the Chinese. A ferociousdunk from Howard woke the Magic up and, coupled with PatGarrity's shooting from long distance, they soon took control ofthe contest to end the first quarter ahead, 24-18.

Howard continued where he left off in the second as the centershowcased another spectacular dunk on a breakaway to help theMagic pull out a 42-21 advantage with just over seven minutesremaining.


Howard was ably assisted by the guard Arroyo, who grabbed 11points in the quarter to ensure the Orlando finished the half ontop, 64-39.


Arroyo added another eight to his total during the third as theMagic continued to cruise and China staged a shortlived rally inthe fourth.


Rookies Kevin Krueger and Marcin Gortat also saw game time forOrlando, scoring six and eight points respectively, and JamesAugustine finished with 14 points and seven rebounds

Olumide Oyedeji led the All-Stars with 25 points.
