By Chris Stock PA SportsTicker Contributing Writer MIAMI (Ticker) - Rookie quarterback John Beck had five turnoversand the New York Jets kept the Miami Dolphins winless thisseason with a 40-13 victory Sunday. Darrelle Revis, Kerry Rhodes, and Drew Coleman interceptedpasses for the Jets while Victor Hobson and David Harris eachrecovered fumbles by Beck. Thomas Jones and Leon Washington combined to rush for 143 yardsand three touchdowns for the Jets. Miami took a 13-10 lead in the second quarter after MichaelLehan returned a fumble 43 yards for a touchdown. The Dolphins were assessed two personal fouls on the ensuingkickoff and the Jets took advantage of the good field position,which resulted in a touchdown reception by Brad Smith. New York then scored the game's next 30 points after thetouchdown by Lehan. Mike Nugent kicked four field goals in thegame. Jets quarterback Kellen Clemens completed 15-of-24 passes for236 yards, including a 19-yard touchdown pass to Smith. While Clemens was efficient, Beck struggled mightily. Therookie completed 23-of-39 passes for 177 yards and threeinterceptions. He also lost two fumbles. The Jets scored on the opening possession of the game on an18-yard run by Washington, who took the direct snap and weavedhis way into the end zone. The 12-play, 84-yard drive was keyedby a 32-yard reception from Laveranues Coles. Miami responded with a 53-yard field goal by Jay Feely to closethe gap to 7-3. It was Feely's longest of the season. Clemens was intercepted by Joey Porter when his pass deflectedoff Smith. Porter's interception, his second in as many weeks,set up a 44-yard field goal by Feely. Immediately following the interception, Clemens found JustinMcCareins for a 51-yard gain, but the Jets were unable tocapitalize and had to settle for a 29-yard field goal by Nugentfor a 10-6 lead. Lehan returned a fumble 43 yards after teammate Will Allensacked Clemens and jarred the ball loose. Lehan caught the ballin mid-air and returned it for a touchdown giving the Dolphinslead. During the play, Channing Crowder was assessed a 15-yard penaltyfor unnecessary roughness. Vernon Carey also picked up a15-yard penalty during the extra point for unsportsmanlikeconduct. The Dolphins kicked off from their own 8-yard linebecause of the two penalties. The Jets took advantage as Clemens found Brad Smith on acrossing route for a 19-yard touchdown to cap off a seven-play,56-yard drive. The Jets took a 20-13 lead into halftime after a Nugent 40-yardfield goal with 11 seconds left in the half. After another turnover by Beck, his third of the game, the Jetstacked on another field goal. Beck was sacked by Bryan Thomasand the fumble was recovered by Hobson. Nugent made a 35-yardfield goal to to make it 23-13. Beck had another fumble after being sacked by David Thomas, whoalso recovered the fumble. Jones scored on a 1-yard touchdownrun on the ensuing possession to give the Jets a 30-13 lead. Beck threw his third interception on the next play fromscrimmage, leading to Nugent's fourth field goal of the game, a26-yarder. Washington scored again the in the closing moments of the gamewith a 12-yard touchdown run.

By Christopher Stock PA SportsTicker Contributing Writer MIAMI (Ticker) - Rookie quarterback John Beck had five turnoversand the New York Jets kept the Miami Dolphins winless thisseason with a 40-13 victory Sunday. Darrelle Revis, Kerry Rhodes, and Drew Coleman interceptedpasses for the Jets while Victor Hobson and David Harris eachrecovered fumbles by Beck. Thomas Jones and Leon Washington combined to rush for 143 yardsand three touchdowns for the Jets (3-8), who beat Miami for thesecond time. "They (stink) too," said Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor ofthe Jets. "They beat us. They will go home happy and theirfans will be happy they have three wins this year so good forthem." Jets quarterback Kellen Clemens completed 15-of-24 passes for236 yards, including a 19-yard touchdown pass to Brad Smith. "Obviously, Miami's season hasn't gone the way they would'veliked but in some ways we can relate," Clemens said. "Weapproached it like it was the most important game of the week.Fortunately we're going to head home victorious." While Clemens was efficient, Beck struggled mightily. Therookie completed 23-of-39 passes for 177 yards and threeinterceptions. He also lost two fumbles. "Rookie quarterbacks, some of them have good games, some of themdon't," Revis said. "We tried to make sure he didn't have agreat game today." Miami took a 13-10 lead in the second quarter after MichaelLehan returned a fumble 43 yards for a touchdown. The Dolphins were assessed two personal fouls on the ensuingkickoff and the Jets took advantage of the good field position,which resulted in a touchdown reception by Smith. "You can see there's some tension out there with the two teamsand that's football," Dolphins coach Cam Cameron said. New York then scored the game's next 30 points after thetouchdown by Lehan. Mike Nugent kicked four field goals in thegame. The Jets scored on the opening possession of the game on an18-yard run by Washington, who took the direct snap and weavedhis way into the end zone. The 12-play, 84-yard drive was keyedby a 32-yard reception from Laveranues Coles. Miami responded with a 53-yard field goal by Jay Feely to closethe gap to 7-3. It was Feely's longest of the season. Clemens was intercepted by Joey Porter when his pass deflectedoff Smith. Porter's interception, his second in as many weeks,set up a 44-yard field goal by Feely. Immediately following the interception, Clemens found JustinMcCareins for a 51-yard gain, but the Jets were unable tocapitalize and had to settle for a 29-yard field goal by Nugentfor a 10-6 lead. Lehan returned a fumble 43 yards after teammate Will Allensacked Clemens and jarred the ball loose. Lehan caught the ballin mid-air and returned it for a touchdown giving the Dolphinslead. During the play, Channing Crowder was assessed a 15-yard penaltyfor unnecessary roughness. Vernon Carey also picked up a15-yard penalty during the extra point for unsportsmanlikeconduct. The Dolphins kicked off from their own 8-yard linebecause of the two penalties. The Jets took advantage as Clemens found Smith on a crossingroute for a 19-yard touchdown to cap off a seven-play, 56-yarddrive. The Jets took a 20-13 lead into halftime after a Nugent 40-yardfield goal with 11 seconds left in the half. After another turnover by Beck, his third of the game, the Jetstacked on another field goal. Beck was sacked by Bryan Thomasand the fumble was recovered by Hobson. Nugent made a 35-yardfield goal to to make it 23-13. "I don't buy that whole rookie thing," said Taylor of Beck. "Ifhe puts you in there, you have to play well." Beck had another fumble after being sacked by David Thomas, whoalso recovered the fumble. Jones scored on a 1-yard touchdownrun on the ensuing possession to give the Jets a 30-13 lead. "You go into the game believing that preparation gives you anopportunity to win," Cameron said. "Then you have to go out andand make plays and take care of the football." Beck threw his third interception on the next play fromscrimmage, leading to Nugent's fourth field goal of the game, a26-yarder. Washington scored again the in the closing moments of the gamewith a 12-yard touchdown run. "Everybody picked us to lose," Hobson said. "I guess that stopsall of those rumors."
