Gerber made 35 saves in a shutout of the New York Rangers onSaturday, while starting goaltender Ray Emery continues torecover from offseason wrist surgery. The 33-year-old veteran has led the Senators to wins in each ofthe team's first three games and is posting a 1.64 goals-againstaverage. Ottawa has gotten its offensive production from a coupleof reliable sources in the first three games. Dany Heatley, whoscored 50 goals to go along with 55 assists last season, has talliedthree goals and two assists thus far. Daniel Alfredsson is tied for the league lead with four goalsand Jason Spezza has recorded four assists this season, a yearafter each had 87 points while helping Ottawa reach the StanleyCup Finals. The Devils bounced back from an opening night loss witha 4-1 triumph over Florida on Saturday. John Madden scored twogoals and Kevin Weekes made 32 saves for his first win sinceDecember 12, 2006. The win also gave Brent Sutter his first victory as Devils coach. New Jersey, which lost to the Senators in the Eastern Conferencesemifinals last season in five games, has won the last threeregular-season meetings between the teams.
