Spilborghs carries Rockies past Phillies

<h3>COLORADO 6, PHILADELPHIA 3</h3>DENVER (Ticker) -- Ryan Spilborghs homered and drove in threeruns as the Colorado Rockies rallied for a 6-3 triumph over thePhiladelphia Phillies on Saturday night.

After a rousing top of the first inning for Philadelphia wasinterrupted by a nearly rain delay of 1 1/2 hours, the tideturned in favor of Colorado.

The Rockies trailed, 3-1, in the fifth before taking the leadfor good. Yorvit Torrealba doubled and scored on Spilborghs'two-run blast - his fifth of the season - and Todd Helton addedan RBI single to cap the three-run inning.

In the next frame, Torrealba once again came around to scorewith the assistance of Spilborghs, who delivered an RBI singleagainst reliever Brian Sanches as Colorado pushed its lead to5-3.

Trailing, 3-0, the Rockies first got on the board againstPhillies starter Jamie Moyer (7-7) in the opening inning asHelton delivered an RBI double.

Rockies starter Rodrigo Lopez (5-2) benefited the most from therain delay.

In the first inning, Jimmy Rollins stroked his 100th careerhomer and reigning National League MVP Ryan Howard added atwo-run shot - his 21st - as Philadelphia grabbed an early lead.

However, Lopez bounced back and retired the last 10 batters hefaced. He allowed three runs and five hits with four strikeoutsin five innings to improve to 5-0 at Coors Field this campaign.

Three relievers bridged the gap to Manny Corpas, who closed thedoor in the ninth for his first save.

Moyer gave up five runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 frames to remainwinless in his last three outings.

"We've been fighting all year and went four games above .500,"Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said. "We came out and startedoff good, and then all of sudden, we got the rain and we wentback out and we were kind of flat."

"(During the delay), we went and played catch in the tunnel and(pitching coach Bob Apodaca) was telling me to stay on top ofthe ball," Lopez said. "After that, I went to the bullpen and Iwas trying to stay taller and try to create that downhillangle. I think I got better life on the fastball after that."

"A big turn was Rodrigo's performance after the rain delay.They didn't hit him," Rockies manager Clint Hurdle said. "Hewas a different pitcher, much more crisp. He spun the ballextremely well, changed speeds, controlled bat speed. His fourinnings after that (rain delay) were a big shot in the arm, andthe bullpen just continues to roll and the offense continues toclick."
