    Young's walk-off homer lifts Diamondbacks

<h3>ARIZONA 4, SAN FRANCISCO 3 (10 INNINGS)</h3>PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Chris Young provided an unwanted feeling ofdeja vu for Kevin Correia.

Young clubbed a walk-off home run with one out in the 10thinning to lift the red-hot Arizona Diamondbacks to a 4-3 victoryover the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday.

The Diamondbacks won for the 10th time in 11 games on Young'sseventh homer of the season and first since May 11.

Once again, a winning blast came at the expense of Correia(1-3), who allowed a walk-off homer to Shane Victorino in a 9-8loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday.

The Giants had a chance to push across the go-ahead run in thetop of the 10th when Rich Aurilia doubled off Brandon Lyon (4-2)for his third hit.

Ray Durham followed with a bloop to left field that Eric Byrnescould not glove, but rookie third baseman Mark Reynolds hustledand threw to Lyon covering third base to tag out Aurilia.

Diamondbacks starter Randy Johnson recorded one mini-milestoneand one major one. He collected his first hit of the seasonwith a fourth-inning single before vaulting up the record booksin the fifth.

With an inning-ending strikeout of Durham, Johnson moved pastRoger Clemens into second place on the all-time list with 4,605.

The 43-year-old lefthander, who had won his last three starts, still is well back of Nolan Ryan's career mark of 5,714.

The Diamondbacks took a 2-0 lead with single runs in the firsttwo innings - both driven in by Conor Jackson.

With Byrnes aboard via a leadoff walk in the first, Jacksondoubled him home for a 1-0 lead. Byrnes later extended hishitting streak to 12 games with a fourth-inning single.

Jackson added a two-out double in the second off Giants starterMatt Cain to plate Carlos Quentin, who had led off the framewith a double.

The Giants drew even at 2-2 in the fourth inning when DanOrtmeier belted a two-out, two-run homer to left-center offJohnson. It was just his second blast of the season.

Pinch hitting for Johnson, rookie Miguel Montero put Arizonaahead with a solo homer in the sixth inning for a 3-2 lead.

Johnson allowed two runs and seven hits in six innings, strikingout eight and walking just one.

Starting with a 30-pitch first inning, Cain labored with hiscontrol throughout and lasted 5 1/3 innings, giving up threeruns and eight hits. He struck out four and walked five, throwing 111 pitches.

San Francisco knotted it at 3-3 in the eighth off Tony Pena whenDurham doubled home Aurilia with the tying run.

"I was struggling before that and the guys told me to keepgrinding and I went up there trying to hit a single and got myfirst walk-off," Young said. "I have been through that before.I understand that in the majors it is a little different but inthat situation you go out there and try to remain calm and don'ttry to hit it 500 feet."

Once again, a winning blast came at the expense of Correia(1-3), who allowed a walk-off homer to Shane Victorino in a 9-8loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday.

"If you pitch in those types of situations it is going tohappen," Correia said. "It usually doesn't happen twice inthree days like that but we are in situations that one mistakecosts us the game. It was like two days ago - I was feelinggreat then one mistake and that's it. It wasn't a good pitchand it was definitely a mistake, a hanging slider."

"Once I saw the ball loose and nobody at third I just started torun there. It was all reaction," Lyon said. "I know I felt himon top of me and I was sticking my glove up but other than thatI really don't know what happened."

"From what I hear, he was out but we had a break and they got anout on it and that was the difference in the game," Giantsmanager Bruce Bochy said.

"I am a strikeout pitcher and always have been, so if you remainhealthy good things will happen," Johnson said. "Some of thenames I have passed is pretty cool. Someone brought to myattention that Roger has about 1,000 more inning than I do.

"To put that in perspective with a thousand less innings thatsays a little bit of what I have been able to accomplish in mycareer. I don't want to be one-dimensional. I think winningballgames is what makes a name for yourself."

Pinch hitting for Johnson, rookie Miguel Montero put Arizonaahead with a solo homer in the sixth inning for a 3-2 lead.

Johnson allowed two runs and seven hits in six innings, strikingout eight and walking just one.

Arizona improved to 16-6 in one-run ballgames this season.

"As many one-run games as we have had this year and havingsuccess in them, you feel like when it is close you are going towin," Diamondback manager Bob Melvin said. "You are not goingto win them all but the way we have been playing lately, youfeel like you are going to win plus these guys have all theconfidence in the world that once we get it back in our dugoutwe have a chance."
