So, to say I was disgusted with this loss is an understatement. We should not be losing to a Carmelo-less Nuggets team, we just shouldn't. Again though, as I said, it is tough to beat a team who hits 15/22 from the arc and you go 8/29. Beyond that, the Nuggets were getting away with a lot. There were three straight possessions where I felt Kobe got hacked going in to the paint, only to miss the tough shot and not get a call. And that Joey Graham foul on Artest was an absolute flagrant in my book. I watched the replay and I didn't see at all where he was going for the ball, but whatever. The Nuggets were on their game tonight, especially in the 2nd half. Good win by them, we just have to move on and prepare for the next game.
True that. It pumped me the fuck up when he was about to pop him. Our team hasn't had any scuffles like that in a while like you said.
Also, Melo is a little bitch laughing at Artest with he's mentally challenged friend J.R. Smith after Artest was about to lay out his teammate. I wish Arest would of said something right in his face after putting in a 3 right in front of him after their chat.
Gasol with another pitiful performance against a big time team this year. The only thing good about him tonight was the rebounding and I guess the assists, but 17 points on 17 shots? Make him the 3rd option until he grows some nuts. Give Drew 17 shots and he makes at least 12 of them.
yes, this was a bad loss for us... but look on the bright side... i was looking at our fgm, we just made 1 less than the nuggets... similar to the 1st game against the nuggets, they needed a career night, or a big big run, or disgusting calls just so they could win... chauncey WONT hit 9 3's and jr smith's stepbacks won't hit their mark again against us even if they wanted too... i just hope this pushes kobe and phil for that hinrich trade!
You have to give credit to the Nuggets playing with a lot of confidence and riding the hot shooting of Chauncey Billups. All night long the Nuggets were getting the ball to the hot hand in the first half it was Billups and in the second half it was JR Smith. The Laker guards were putrid last night and the second line of defense was slow on closing the gaps to challenge. I thought Gasol played fine, but he needs to complaining and flopping around the court if the officials are going to allow physical play against you. There were a few shot attempts he took close in where he tried to finesse the ball instead of going up looking to dunk it. The Nuggets beat us by being the aggressor all night long and playing with more intensity. George Karl made a slight adjustment at halftime to trap Kobe hard and get the ball out of his hands. Kobe's teammates adjusted, but Sasha Vujacic couldn't hit a wide open shot to save his life. He was 0-5 from behind the arc and a disaster on the defensive end. The Nuggets played the same defense last year against us and left Ariza open. The difference was Ariza made them pay for leaving him. What really pissed me off though was not taking advantage of Odom and Bynum in the paint. Our guards are so tentative to pass the ball in the paint. It's retarded basketball watching Farmar and Shannon Brown dribble from one side of the court to the other and then force up a shot. Sometimes they go in, but when they miss it's a transition basket the other way and a wasted opportunity to pound the ball into the paint. Odom had a guard on him several times on switches and was screaming for the ball. Instead a long range shot went up and you could just see the anguish on Odom and PJax face. Bynum was actually running up the floor in this game and establishing post position early into the clock. Nene nor Birdman can root him out of the paint anymore. He was 5/7 from the field and getting off any shot he wanted on them. I saw Farmar waive him off when Drew had post position or swing the ball to the opposite side of the court instead of making an entry pass. We have two more games against the Nuggets so it will be interesting to see what adjustment our team makes.
