    MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Rudy Gay scored 22 points tolead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 104-98 preseason victory overthe Miami Heat on Saturday night.


    A second-year forward out of Connecticut, Gay was almost perfecton the night, hitting all six of his shots from the field,including 5-of-5 from 3-point range. His only miss came at thefree-throw line.


    Stromile Swift added 16 points, including 13 in the firstquarter, to help the Grizzlies jump to a 40-28 lead after thefirst 12 minutes.


    Memphis hit five 3-pointers in the opening quarter and finished10-of-20 from the arc in just its third preseason game.

    Brian Chase scored 19 points to lead the injury-wracked Heat,who again were without superstars Shaquille O'Neal and DwyaneWade and fell to 0-6 on the preseason.


    Jeremy Richardson and Jason Williams were also in double figureswith 15 and 11 points, respectively, for Miami, which was8-of-14 from the arc.


    In his second game of the preseason with the Heat, AnferneeHardaway had two points and six rebounds in 15 minutes.
