CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- Jamal Lewis showed the Baltimore Ravens thathe has something left. Lewis rushed for a touchdown and Derek Anderson was efficient atquarterback as the Cleveland Browns posted a 27-13 victory overthe Ravens on Sunday. Lewis spent his first seven seasons with the Ravens, rushing for2,066 yards in 2003. But Lewis has battled an ankle injurysince his record season, which led the Ravens to look for moreproduction at running back. After the Ravens (2-2) acquired Willis McGahee in the offseasonfrom Buffalo, Lewis was left without a job. He jumped to theAFC North rival Browns, signing a one-year contract in March. "They left me out there, and Cleveland picked me up," Lewissaid. "They felt like I was washed up and didn't have that burstanymore. And here I am, being successful running the footballover here. "I told the team before the game, 'These guys don't think we canbeat them.' I know that just from playing there. Coming in, weknew the Browns couldn't beat us." In his first game against his old team, Lewis picked up the hardyards on the ground, including a 1-yard TD run with 4:18 leftin the first half which gave the Browns a 24-3 lead. He rushedfor 64 yards on 23 carries. Making his third start since Charlie Frye was traded to Seattle,Anderson hardly was intimidated by one of the NFL's bestdefenses as he consistently moved the Browns' offense. Anderson threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Joe Jurevicius and a78-yard scoring strike to Braylon Edwards in the first quarter, giving the Browns a 14-0 advantage. Overall, Anderson completed 10-of-18 passes for 204 yardswithout a turnover. Anderson pointed to the Browns' first drive of the game, anine-play, 55-yard march as a key. "Our first drive set the tempo for the whole game," he said. "Wecame out there and caught them off guard a few times and madesome plays. It got them on their heels a little bit. We letthem know we're going to be physical. We got in a rhythm andgot guys going." Edwards finished with three catches for 97 yards. Playing with apartially dislocated shoulder, tight end Kellen Winslow addedfour receptions for 96 yards. Cleveland improved to 2-1 in the AFC North Division. "I don't think a lot of people would think we would be 2-1 inthe division and 2-2 in September," said Browns coach RomeoCrennel, who was under pressure entering this season. "We feelgood about where we are." It was a frustrating afternoon for the Ravens, who moved intoBrowns territory on their first six drives but managed just sixpoints. "We didn't capitalize when we had the opportunities," Ravenstight end Todd Heap said. "That is how the ballgame is going togo when you move the ball between the 20's and don'tcapitalize." "It is a low point for us. Thinking about how the game went, nota whole lot went our way. We turned the ball over and gave theBrowns opportunities. When you don't put yourself in aposition to win, those are the most frustrating games." Steve McNair took to the air often, completing 34-of-53 passesfor 307 yards and a touchdown with an interception. Hisfavorite target was Derrick Mason, who had 10 catches for 78yards. McGahee rushed for 104 yards on 14 carries. "We just got our butts beat, plain and simple," Ravens coachBrian Billick said. "What you do when you get your butt whippedlike that is come back, try to correct it, and move on to thenext game."
