The Hurricanes currently reside at the top of the SoutheastDivision despite three straight losses. Carolina is the onlyteam in the NHL to be in first place with a negative goaldifferential as the club has been outscored by its opponents101-104. The Hurricanes have been outscored 15-7 during their currentslide, including a 6-0 setback to the Ottawa Senators onWednesday and a 4-3 loss to the Calgary Flames. The Flyers - three points back of first-place New Jersey in theAtlantic Division - have been hard pressed to put a streak ofany kind together recently, trading wins and losses for the pastmonth. Philadelphia cruised to an 8-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguinson Tuesday and following it up with a 4-1 loss to Montreal onThursday. The Flyers are second in the Eastern Conference in power playpercentage at 22.9 percent. Three of their eight goals againstthe Penguins came on the man-advantage, as did their lone goalagainst the Canadiens. Philadelphia has won each of the previous three meetings betweenthe teams this season.
