MONTREAL (Ticker) -- Matt D'Agostini is trying his best to makean impression.


D'Agostini scored his second goal of the game 1:45 intoovertime, lifting the Montreal Canadiens to a 3-2 preseasonvictory over the New York Islanders on Friday.


A sixth-round pick in 2005, D'Agostini spent last season in theAmerican Hockey League with Hamilton, where he recorded 21 goalsand 28 assists in 63 games. The 20-year-old helped Montrealavenge Wednesday's loss to New York, opening the scoring at 6:53of the first period before coming through in the extra session.

Guillaume Latendresse had given the Canadiens a 2-1 lead with 51/2 minutes remaining in the second period, but the Islandersbattled back to tie it in third as defenseman Radek Martinektallied with 5:57 to go.


Tomas Plekanec recorded two assists and Carey Price - the fifthoverall pick in 2005 - made 22 saves for Montreal, which went1-for-5 on the power play.


Jeff Tambellini scored a goal and Josef Vasicek set up twoothers for the Islanders, who outshot the Canadiens, 24-21.

Mike Morrison allowed two goals on 11 shots for New York beforebeing replaced midway through the second period by WadeDubielewicz, who made nine saves.
