LONDON, Ontario (Ticker) -- Goaltender Martin Gerber turnedaside all 52 shots he faced as the Ottawa Senators shut out thePhiladelphia Flyers, 4-0, on Tuesday.

Rookie Nick Foligno had a goal and two assists and Patrick Eavesalso scored and added a helper for Ottawa, which won its firstpreseason game.

Defenseman Andrej Meszaro added a power-play goal that gave theSenators a 3-0, first-period lead.

A first-period goal by Ilja Zubov at the 7:37 mark was all thescoring Gerber would need. The 33-year old Swiss, who was15-9-3 for the Senators last season, stopped 14 shots in thefirst, 23 in the second and 15 in the third. The four-yearveteran is vying for the backup goaltender position behind RayEmery.

Meszaro scored on the power-play with 3:46 left in the firstsession, before Foligno also tallied with a man-advantage withjust 44 seconds left in the period.

All three goals came against Antero Niittymaki, who stopped 21of the 24 shots he faced through two sessions. Brian Boucherstarted the final period in net for Philadelphia, surrendering agoal to Eaves midway through the session.

The Flyers, who were 0-for-7 on the power play, fall to 1-1 inthe preseason.
