    TORONTO (Ticker) -- Patrick Eaves' goal 53 seconds into overtimelifted the Ottawa Senators to a 4-3 victory over the Toronto MapleLeafs in a preseason game Monday.


    The power-play goal was setup by Jason Spezza - his third assistof the game - just 24 seconds after Hal Gill was sent to thepenalty box for tripping.


    Goaltender Martin Gerber, who will be fighting for playing timewith Ray Emery, made 35 saves for the Senators, who are 4-0 inthe preseason.


    Christoph Schubert scored two goals and Dany Heatley added agoal and two assists for Ottawa, which held a 3-1 lead midwaythrough the second period.


    Alexei Ponikarovsky tied the game with 8:50 left in the thirdperiod for Toronto, which also got goals from Mats Sundin andJohn Pohl.


    Toronto goaltender Andrew Raycroft made 28 saves. Raycroft isin the midst of his own battle for starts as the Maple Leafsalso have Vesa Toskala on the roster, who is expected to competefor playing time as well.


    Toronto, which outshot Ottawa, 18-8, in the third period, hadnine different players register one point in the contest.
