    CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- Kristian Huselius scored two goalsand added another in the shootout as the Calgary Flames edgedthe San Jose Sharks, 3-2, on Wednesday in a preseason matchup.

    Craig Conroy provided the decisive goal in the shootout beforeSharks center Curtis Brown with his attempt to seal the victoryfor the Flames. Huselius and the newly-acquired Owen Nolanscored the other goals for Calgary while Jonathan Cheechoo andPatrick Marleau tallied for San Jose in the shootout.

    After the Sharks jumped out to an early 2-0 advantage, theFlames cut the deficit in half when Huselius scored a power-playgoal at the 12:31 mark of the first period. Huselius nettedanother in the second period on an unassisted effort to tie thegame at 2-2.


    Flames goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff surrendered two goals in thefirst 2:04 of the game but he settled down and shutdown theSharks offense for the remainder of the contest, collecting 32saves in the process.


    Marleau scored just 30 seconds into the contest and PatrickRissmiller tallied less than two minutes later to give San Josea 2-0 edge.
