Well, hard not to argue we got beat by the better team. The Spurs controlled the pace and pretty much but the nix on the fast break offense. I thought our defensive play overall was actually decent, considering who we were playing. We had lapses at times, but we definately looked better than last year. I was disapointed that we didn't press on defense in the 2nd half though ... Mitchell has got to realize that without pressure on the other team it's way too easy to slow down the pace. Nice game by Bargnani today. Some of our other guys were definately off, its interesting to see the downside in some of our players games (since most of them are new to our team). Parker needs to look where he's passing more and TJ needs to look to where the man is more before he passes the ball. We definately got hurt by turnovers today, and a lack of a 3-point threat from the outsides. The Spurs clogged the lane late and TJ couldn't find our shooters enough to open things up. Random Joey sighting in the 4rd ... as random as this sentence.
that was coaching and experience that won it for the spurs. btw, did anyone else notice chris bosh's half arse effort on the pick and roll's? it seemed like they went at bosh on the defensive end every chance they got.
<div class="quote_poster">Chutney Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">^ They went to Tim Duncan on every offensive possession. It wasn't about Bosh.</div> funny cause i dont remember that same emphasis when rasho was on duncan, plus, bosh in the pick and roll sequences looked like a high school player
ya i kinda agree. Even last game against the bucks there was a sequence where bosh ran into his own guy on a pick and roll (on defense), instead of making a hard move to contest the player going to the hoop (which i think was CV) he just kinda sat there. Today as well i think he could have stepped up a little more to prevent guys like Parker from getting so many shots in the lane. He more or less waited back and tried to see if he could bock the shot instead of actually stepping up and playing defense (taking the chance of getting a foul).

I thought they pretty much pounded it into Duncan the whole game. Rasho just did a better job of making Tim work for it and even made him pass out a few times. I will say this though, Bosh was giving TD position way too close to the basket. Even Bargnani did a better job of pushing Duncan out and make him work from farther away.
