Ginobili does not start. And the Spurs will still be ahead of the Lakers, even if they lose.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">This will be a tough game, and the TWolves will be out to take another win against the Spurs. The KG vs. TD match-up is highly anticipated for all the MVP debates. The Spurs are coming off a loss to the Cavs, while the TWolves keep getting better and healthier. KG is playing great basketball and is doing EVERYTHING for his team once again this season. Both teams play great defense, so this game will come down to which offense can execute better. I think the TWolves have the better players on offense and should be able to take the league and hold on to it. The Kandi vs. Nesterovic sub plot will also be interesting to watch.</div>

Shapecity is right imo. The Kandiman/ Nesterovic matchup will be extremely important. In the absence of Kandiman in the 1st matchup Nesterovic was free to rome the boards. Even tho he only had 8 rebs help to keep alot of shots live for the spurs. And his help defense on KG was superb. Hopefully with Kandiman back in the lineup he can keep Nesterovic off of the offensive boards. And having a better offensive weapon down low will help to free up KG a little more against the Spurs 2 bigmen.

Also another matchup to focus on is the Sam/Parker matchup. The Spurs usually create their offense in 2 ways either with Tim creating attention with his post game. Or Parker driving the lanes & creating shots for himself as well as his teamates. Sam must keep Parker contained to the perimeter. I would even sag a little off of Parker just to see if his jumper is on or not. Keeping Parker contained will make it extremely difficult for the spurs to generate offense.

And on the other hand Parker had an extremely difficult time trying to contain Sam in the 1st matchup. Parker doesn like to guard pyshical point guard. Steph gave parker alot of problem last season by muscling him around. So Sam should try and take Parker into the post a little. And run him of a lot of bigman screnes. This will wear Parkers body down as the game go along. And if Sam gets it really going like he did in the 1st matchup than Greg Pop will have no choice but to switch Bowen on to Sam like what happen in the 2nd half/4th quarter. This will create a better match for spree to generate his offense game against Manu. And Parker will more than likely switch to hassell, who can just look over the top of him, And Knock down his mid range Jumper which he is becoming more efficient at making.

BTW: Excellent Preview twolvefan, I look forward to this matchup.

EDIT: I hope that makes it a little easier to read.

Parker had no points in the win at Toronto, the other night, and Ginobili only had 8 points that game, 6 coming from clutch free throws in the late fourth.

And Henacy, man, can you make it a little easier for us to read through by seperating your ideas into paragraphs?

I don't think Kandi man will get that much playing time. He is still a little bit rusty. They will probably work him in the lineup gradually.

If the Wolves win today, and Pacers lose the Wolves will be in first all by themselves.

No they wouldn't. They would be tied with the Kings for percentage wise.

I've made up my mind....I will be rooting for the Spurs today! Simply because, where I live, there are mainly T-wolf fans! But it really doesn't matter who wins I guess..

The Wolves are kind of starting out cold. I hope they can pick up the pace. Ginobili is killing us.

Parker and Ginobili are pimping you guys hard. 30-23, end of the first. Let's go!

On a side note, thanks, Henacy. Much, much better.

That just pretty much explains the game right there. This better not be a blowout.

Olowokandi seems to have good timing tonight. Just got a nice block on Duncan, and earlier had a nice dunk. This is what I've been waiting for. He is bringing momentum to our team. Olowokandi is a big key to our playoff run. Can't wait until he plays at full speed.

Everyone travels in the NBA. EVERYONE! And yes, Cassell is sparking us quite nicely, too.

12 turnovers in the first half? Ouch, that's what we average a game. We better step it up in the second, or this is going to be a lost cause.

Duncan got the Kandiman back for that block, too. Who says the Spurs can't be exciting? 50-41 at the half. I could only wish it would be a blowout...

Well, the Timberwolves are hanging in there. But I don't know how much longer they can if they continue at this pace.

No kidding. This whole game has been poorly officiated both ways.

Did you guys realize we just had the dream-lineup in for a couple of minutes?

Kandi-KG-Wally-Spree-Sam - this lineup will abuse the Kings in the WCF! (I hope.)

Anyways, even if Wally's cold tonight, the Wolves are still hanging in. Down 6 and the Wolves are fourth quarter-specialists anyway.

Kandi impresses me. He's got 8 boards already in basically his first game of the season. Keep up the good work Kandiman.

BTW This kinda chatroom about the game here is pretty cool.
