I think it is a requirement for Warriors fans to be bipolar. One minute we are talking playoffs, then after a loss or two we are calling for someone's head. That is why I made that thread memo for next season. I am guilty as anyone else though...

Dude, I was kidding! We won by 1 measly point over a team on the downside. Of course I still don't think the Warriors will make the playoffs. Not unless something big happens by the deadline.

If we get f-ing KG and a decent center + keep all of our stars, we could turn a .460 record into something big. Even if we get a PF, I think we still need a center or else we're a donut-squad like we are now. ...or maybe not if Biedrins/KG are tough enough. I still think the only reason Minny has been doing slightly better was because they got a more productive center (even though he sucks at rebounding, he still eats up space, blocks a few shots, and plays inside some, and he's 7 feet tall).

I know you were joking, I was too.

BTW we are .5 game back from Minnesota, but I think Denver has the 8th spot locked up right now with their record of 22-21, but they have not played as many games as we have. Minnesota has played 1 less game than us too so if they win their next game we will be 1 game behind them. But if they lose tomorrow night and we win in Charlotte, I think that will put us 1 half game ahead of them...

Actually the 7th and 8th spots are up for grabs. Denver, Clippers, Minnesota, Warriors, even Portland and Hornets, are all right there.

Warriors are going to come up with a PF somewhere, get JRich back, gel into awesome chemistry, and go on a surge here very soon................

    Oh heheh.

8th seed, woo hoo! I would love to see that. I remember the good ol days of the Warriors making the playoffs every year and getting knocked out of the first round. It sure beats going to secaucus every year.

Then I remember that road games are a headache and we just beat a bad team by one point tonight. Ouch. I can't help but kneejerk over that one. Thank goodness for even rebounding this time!

    On a side note.

Murphy got his big nose broken again! Twice in the same season, sucks to be him. His nose will continue to become more ugly.

Jrich will play PF when he gets back. He played it in high school and he posts up well. Problem solved Nelly ball style!

Bummer for Murph. That's going to hurt his double-double chances......

Maybe Dunleavy can make up for him by averaging his own double-double -- 10 flops and 10 missed jumpers per game.

Well it's a win. I'll take it. I think that takes a lot of pressure off the team, just to get that first win on this road trip. There's three games left. The road trip is still salvageable. It doesn't matter which ones they win or how they win them or how they lose them. If they win three of six, I would call that a success. I was expecting 2-1 (with a loss to Atlanta) at this point. But I guess they have to surprise me and beat Charlotte (tough game because you know Charlotte wants payback after getting destroyed by last week) or Indiana (I have a feeling Ike is going to score 30+ against them).

Well Murph might be out for the Indy game so at least GS won't have to worry about the double-double king.

I was thinking that the Clips and Nuggets were going to run away with the 7th and 8th seeds. But the Nuggets have lost four in a row. The Warriors are two games out, behind the Nuggets for the 8th spot. That is not too far back. February is a crucial month. I think the Warriors play the Nuggets and the Clippers this month. Those will be huge games. It would be great to get the season series advantage so just in case there is a tie for the last playoff spot.

Damn, I was counting on him putting JO in serious foul trouble. [IMG]

Yeah -- with Murphy out of the game, GS can breathe easy because they won't surreneder nearly as many meaningless defensive garbaaaage boards.

What I meant was if Murphy is in the game, we single him out, drive on him and put J.O. in a position where he's gotta cover the weakside and risk getting a foul. We could also do the same with Dunleavy. Just keep pounding him and force a switch or some kind of defensive movement where it gets a guy open or opens up the middle.

The problem is they could also do it to us as well. And JO is a better inside defender than Biedrins at F/C. Plus, JO can score inside, Jeff Foster can mop up other people's misses. Plus, if we play against the Pacers, I'm worried about payback from Ike. He's not doing much now because he gets very little minutes, but if JO goes down at some point before the game, the coach may play him and I think he'll get payback against Don Nelson. Call me a dumb player or a blamer and I'll drop 30 on you with and1 plays.

The Pacers have been winning, so if we get beat by them I'll be upset. They basically prove that if you got good big man depth, it'll beat smaller lineups whose shooting is off and on. However, since Pacers now have a lot of money committed to big players, I wonder how they will fare on much needed guard play. Their best shooting guard is probably Jamal Tinsley or Marquis Daniels. uggg..

I don't know about that. There may be a slight decline but Foster, Granger, and Dunleavy can probably pick up the slack there. This should be a good game, well like all of the W's games. There are no guarantees for a .500 team.
