Anybody see that nice bounce pass that Ike had? That's what I'm hoping we could achieve if Ike gets doubled as much as Baron or Ellis.

No Warrior would get doubled that much unless it's because the ballhandler really sucks or they can't pass it.

I've said it before and I will say it again. The Warriors are a good running team, but Pheonix is on a whole nother level! We can not keep up with them. Its like we think we can beat them at their own game. Next time, I say we play a slow it down game against them, but still try to keep our running opportunities up if they arise. What a pathetic loss. Its not that the Warriors played that bad, its that Phoenix was hitting everything tonight!

Yeah and another "nobody" forward goes off against us (James Jones). We should change the slogan of our warriors forum.

Giving career games to forwards since 2001 or something.

Of course Barbosa, Bell, Nash, and Marion were just fantastic as well. But James Jones wasn't hitting anything anything until recently against us.

PHX has a *little* more talent up front. They also can stop us while we can't stop them. Tonight turnovers hurt us bad.

I think every team in the western conference has more talent up front, unfortunately. [IMG] Points off turnovers was extremely bad. Elis and Pietrus need to work on their games.

Yeah. Tonight's the kind of game that takes the wind out of my sails. The Warriors started off okay, but they just can't keep up with the better teams or the teams in the playoffs.

Right now, we're borderline playoff. We may be out of the playoffs if Minnesota keeps rising and Houston keeps winning without Yao. Then there are the Clips who could turn it around somehow. Maybe Sacramento, too, if they make a deal for Artest. NO/OKC could come back if they get healthy.

I was just listening to Roundtable and they were talking about getting JRich back and then this team will be better. I dunno. We got enough backcourt guys. We need a stud big man up front. That's the rub!!!

Trade Baron! Replace him with Monta! *sarcasm

Imagine if Mullin listened to those hysterical fans.

It wasn't so much us not keeping up,or us getting outplayed in the paint as it was Jones-Barbosa making a dozen 3's and doing it at a 60% pace. The zone let us down.

We couldn't counter with Barnes,he didn't shoot well. Monta scored-but was pretty ragged with the TO's. Ironically-Murphy's playing real good D this week---now he can't shoot.

The thrill for me was seeing a WHOLE TWO MINUTES of Ike + Andy at C + PF.
.....now I can die fullfilled. We didn't make much use of it-but the Earth didn't crash into the sun either.

That's not exactly true. In order to exploit the zone, PHX is going to shoot from outside. In the zone, we're going to play the passing lanes.

If they bring they ball up, then they are going to pass in order to move the zone. If we had big men inside who can rebound, then it makes it easier for the smaller players. They play the passing lanes and not have to worry so much about getting rebounds. If there are opposing guys who get hot, then you can send one or two guys out to guard them. There goes your zone and you're guarding man to man or in a modified zone. However, if you're not sure about rebounding, then the smaller guys can't release early and have to help on the boards or wait until the board is corraled. PHX is too good a passing team and if their perimeter shooters are hitting, then they exploit our slow rotation or guards going out. A stud big man makes it lot easier for the guards to roam freely.

And you mentioned we got AB and Ike. Well, that's fine on paper but how often are they on the court together? We need them to be rock of Gibralters in getting boards and clogging the middle so it makes it tough going inside.

<div class="quote_poster">HiRez Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Why do the Warriors keep getting these back end of back-to-back road games vs. a fully-rested Suns team? Sheesh. Talk about an uphill battle. Can they find anyone to clamp down on Raja Bell on the perimeter? We all saw what Ray Allen did to us last night from outside, that doesn't bode well for the Warriors vs. a team like the Suns who have multiple three-point threats. I don't think the Warriors can outrun the Suns and I don't think they can outshoot them, so this looks like a loss, although the Warriors often seem to get up to play good teams so I can see it being competitive. I expect a DNP-CD for Ike tonight [IMG]</div>

When i was in college i lived with two extreme laker fans and i noticed that the warriors always got teams fresh while the lakers would get teams on the second night. We got the schedule out and i dont know if the league just had its travel set up to go to no cal first then so cal..... but throughout the year a team such as orlando would come into to oakland on fri and play sat in los angeles..... it certainly helped the lakers. We found similar biases in the travel schedule.

But, KNBR says that the Warriors have lost their last 10 straight road games when finishing up a back-to-back. Doesn't that say that this team is not as well-conditioned or prepared as they should be. Sure, back-to-backs are tough on every team, but not that tough. Most teams win at least a few of those.

Barbosa and Jones were on fire last night. Hard to play to stop them when there's Nash, Stoudamire, Marion and Diaw too. Think about it, the Warriors got blown out, but it was because of some reserves getting hot, not because Stoudamire goes off for 44 or Nash gets 25 assists on the pick and roll. The Warriors were not bad through the half on their D, just some sloppy turnovers.

CR2 is right, Monta has no idea how to make good fundamental passes. Pietrus? He's JRich's twin on the dribble, a TO waiting to happen. Azebuike has got some potential but he took some quick shots in transition, jumpers, with no one underneath.

Baron is tough as nails. Just wish the others would follow along.

Barnes may be coming down to earth, hope he stays somewhat above average because the Warriors need his D and ability to run.

I think Matt Barnes misses the old/new/nerf ball right now that they used in 2006: well then again he did have that great shooting night against the Grizzlies on the 3rd...

There was no defense on Jones and very little on Barbosa, especially considering he kept going to the same spot for about 15 times in a row, and still nobody could play much defense on him. Last game according to Bob and Jim the Warriors attacked Barbosa. This game the Suns used Barbosa to defend Mike Dunleavy which produced nothing for the Warriors.

But basically no team is going to win when they give the opponent 19 more shot attempts and when that opponent is shooting 52% from the field. Oddly the Warriors didn't get outrebounded, as they outrebounded the Suns. But the shot differential must have been from the turnovers 25 of them, and since the Warriors did get to the line a lot which probably took away some attempts from the stat sheet.

The Suns are just extremely hot. I don't know how they will lose again. They are 23-3 in the last 26 games and only lost two of them in overtime and one other late in the fourth or something like that. It would be tough to get down too hard on this loss. Obviously the Suns are almost unstoppable.
