It could go either way with the goalie change. Gives Igor extra time off and a mental reset, but also may give the team a spark and make Pittsburgh let down a bit. Get one in the first 10 min and it could get interesting.
Other reason I don't like pulling Igor is if we are going to win this series we need him. To not allow him to try and work through this in his first ever playoff road start I don't think is a wise decision by Gallant. Now he starts a must win game 4 off a bad performance, and being pulled in his only road playoff start.
If Igor had a proven playoff record I would agree. This being his first ever road playoff start I don't love it. Time will tell if it was the right move or not.
I love the comment, first 6 minutes have been good. We have missed the net on like 5 shots. That is a very low bar huh Sam and Joe...
There we go. Maybe they are onto something. Hit the net and shoot the puck, and we'll see what happens.
I don't think it will affect Shesterkin negatively as he doesn't get fazed by much. Just wipe it clean and move on. If he gives up 3 more tonight that might do more harm than good.
Yes, it was and has been. Low bar compared to the no effort first period, but yes they are actually playing with passion in the second. Good to see. Keep shooting high.
We are a better team than the Pens. We play with a purpose and effort and we are better. I still believe that 100%.
