Man, Bayless needs to take better care of the ball. He's got 12 turnovers in 2 games. That's pretty bad to say the least.

I was excited the game was on TV so I could check out Bayless . . . almost wish the game wasn't on TV. :)

Bayless looks a long way from being an NBA PG. I want so much for him to be the future PG because of his size, his work ethic and his willingness to play physical. But he just doesn't look like a PG.

I don't think Jeter is an NBA PG, but you can tell he has a PG mentality . . . knowing when to pass, penetrate or take an outside jumper. Bayless doesn't look to be reacting to the defense but instead already having in his mind what he is going to do this time down.

Bayless is young and has the physical talents . . . I hope he can develop mentally in the next few years. Today, Nate called Bayless a scoring guard and the Blazers have to feed into his strength . . . I agree, only we already have a pretty good scoring guard . . . at least for another year.

Rudy is your backup PG, Bayless is your backup 2. Bayless defends the PG, Rudy defends the 2.

Why should we try and turn a creative passer and playmaker into a SG, and turn a good scorer into a PG?

Actually I am more for Rudy and Roy starting, there is enough PG skills between them, and size mismatch problems they cause, to start, and Bayless plays backup to both. :devilwink:

I think Rudy will start in the 2010-2011 season, in just the fashion you speak of.

Bayless had AT LEAST 5 sure fire assists botched by his teammates and the offense was just horribly ran. Why no post ups for Jeff, why wa Jerryd just passing to the wing all the time..why weren't there any pick and rolls with he and Dante?
Also, Bayless should have taken the last shot. He actually could be a big time guy for us in the future, we need him getting all the buzzer beating experience as possible.
Oh well, it is summer league...

Considering he got 4 assists in the first 7 mins of the last game he has had 5 assists and 12 TOs in the last 7 quarters.

I am a big Bayless fan but he has not played well... of course, summer league for him is not about impressing anyone or winning games (although both of those things would be nice) but working on what he needs to work on, and clearly he needs to keep polishing his ability to get other people involved and take care of the basketball.

Hopefully he's able to work through these struggles and see them as an opportunity to lay a foundation, rather than evidence that he needs to keep his game and mindset where it was last year when he dominated as a scored in summer league...

It's pretty obvious, from what I've seen, that Bayless can pretty much score at will in the SL. I think he knows that. He's trying to work on his distribution skills, and he hasn't looked terrible. He just needs to work on taking care of the ball, but there's really nothing he can do about crappy teammates who can't hit an open shot.

All this complaining about teammates who could not hit shots... if we want to consider every time a decent pass had a chance to score, then Sergio was even better than we thought.

Sergio's Achilles heel was his inability to hit an open shot, it was never about his ability to pass. I'm not one of those to absolve Jerryd of all responsibility (he has been very loose with the ball) but outside of Cunningham I don't see a lot of scorers or shooters on this team and that is depressing his assist totals somewhat. I'm way more interested in where he gets teammates the ball and when versus the end product.

I guess I'm the only one who actually enjoys people trying to troll. I read the posts, chuckle and move on. Seriously, if they bother you, either put them on ignore or don't respond to their posts. Have you ever seen a troll who doesn't get what he or she wants? They get even more outrageous. It's terrific stuff.

Remember when it's all said and done, they're just "Cluster B" personality types: http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2004/5/15/19332/5961

Edit: MGB, this post wasn't directed at you, but rather the forum in general. I just used your quote.

I hated it, not because he's not skilled, but rather that he's not big enough to handle the four and not quick enough to handle the three. He looks terrific against SL competition, though.
