Who can honestly watch that replay and tell me that there was no intent to injure there? Kidd held him by the back of the head and pulled him down towards the floor. If that does not earn a suspension, but Garnett's action does, this is a joke.</div>

Kidd was trying to avoid injury, he pushed the guy to the ground so he wouldn't fall awkwardly if he jumped high.

Garnett shoved a player and a ref.
</div>

Kidd was trying to avoid injury by reaching out unneccesarily and grabbing an opponents head and pulling it down, forcing that opponent off balance and making him only barely able to avoid smashing his face off the floor?

We are talking about the same play, right?
</div>

Did Kidd steal Joumana from you or something? lol. Why do you have this bitter hatred for Kidd? Seems half the league hates Kidd these days.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks escaped discipline for a Game 4 skirmish in which Kevin Garnett pushed off a referee while players on both benches stepped onto the court.

NBA spokesman Tim Frank said Tuesday there would be no fines or suspensions. Four technical fouls resulted in a game Atlanta won 97-92 to tie the best-of-seven series at two games apiece.

The confrontation started when Garnett cleared out Zaza Pachulia with an elbow, and the Hawks forward went forehead-to-forehead with the Celtics star. A referee grabbed Garnett, but he, too, got a push as Garnett struggled to break free.

Celtics center Kendrick Perkins and Atlanta forward Marvin Williams acknowledged they stepped onto the court as they strained to see what was going on. Such actions are barred in the NBA, especially with commissioner David Stern looking on.

KG's the king of cheap shots, and the only thing I'm disappointed about is that KG didn't push Zaza so that Zaza coulda knocked his ass out.

And Zaza ain't no pussy European like Nenad or Manu, he's one of those hustle guys who bust their asses and don't mind getting physical. You think he's scared of KG? Funny</div>

Look at the beginning of the play. Zaza is HOLDING GARNETT'S SHIRT, then he pushes Garnett back from a rebound, look at KG stumble back (0:57).
Zaza was pushing him and grabbing him and in the end got an elbow in his direction. Look on the replay. Garnett is pushing his ARM away. This isn't the case of someone "throwing elbows". It's a way of telling someone "get the **** off me".

Seriously, am I missing something? Here's what I saw:
1)Zaza holds KG, pushes him away from rebound
2) KG pushes Zaza's arm away, after which Zaza takes 3 steps back and looks as if he got thrown away by superman.
3) Zaza decides that was a personal insult and gets in KG"s face.
4) KG keeps his cool and doesn't throw any punches.

So... Zaza started fouling, he got into KG's face and KG didn't blow his cool. Why in the bloody hell should he be suspended? For what, acting like a professional?
Or because someone grabs him from behind and starts pulling him?

Seriously, the whole ref situation is ridiculous. Imagine, if you're having a verbal disagreement with someone, a cop grabs you from behind, you push him away and get shot. It's the same ****ing situation.

Garnett could have simply pull his arm away from Zaza, but instead he pushed him, if he didn't expect any kind of retaliation after that, than he's incredibly stupid. I don't see how he kept his cool, he was also jawing off at Zaza, and was pushing left and right(including a ref) he didn't swing at anyone, but I wouldn't say he was keeping his cool.

No it's not. What was he shoving the ref out the way for, no one was about to swing at him, he was away from the chaos at the time, he pushed the ref, to get in the chaos.

Just to add to my previous about the allegedly criminal ref shove.

Find a replay on YouTube from the live event. When they show replays of the altercation, you don't see Garnett shoving off someone who came at him from outside of his line of sight. You see the ref's second approach towards Garnett, where he comes at him face to face and puts two hands on his chest and Garnett does nothing to fight it off and allows the ref to push him away from the main cluster. To add to my point about how ridiculous a Garnett suspension would have been, the ref inadvertantly pushes KG towards Pachulia and Garnett looks at Pachulia, but continues to let the ref push him away.

Some people are making this out to be like Garnett ran up from behind the ref and beat him about the head and neck.

And to add to my point about how ridiculous a Perkins suspension would be, watch the Celtics bench at the start of this clip:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2bh6u8_VW8"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2bh6u8_VW8

Perkins is the guy with the grey, sleeveless shirt on. He is standing at the start of the altercation and starts walking forward at the innitial whistle, thinking its a foul. Notice the slow stroll and the single foot that is put on the floor before he stops on his own. Then an assistant gets infront of him and shoves him back. You can call that a suspendable action, if I can call you ****ing idiot.

Unfortunately I can't find any of the clips from the morning shows or the Hawks version of it, but I have a feeling that Marvin Williams did roughly the same thing that Perkins did.

Look at the video the ref tries seperate KG from the altercation, KG slap is hand away, and approaches Zaza, than the ref grabbed him, thats when KG pushed him.

No he didn't but it's allright bro. You're a homer and you see things differently. Your team is in the playoffs after so many years of suffering so we can't expect anything else from the Hawks fans.

Again good luck tomorrow, as well as for game 6. (you know, and I know, your team will need it)

Well you predicted Pierce to have 40pts and the Celtics to win by 30 in game 3, so you saying we'll lose is a good thing, if your a Hawks fan.

The Celtics can beat the Hawks by 30+, the Hawks on the other hand cannot.

The only reason the Hawks won those two games is because the Celtics didn't play up to their standards.

I never saw Zaza grab Garnett's shirt.

Zaza was going for the ball. Sure, he was grabbing onto KG's shoulder. That's what happens when games get physical. Maybe the refs should call that. I don't see how that warrants KG throwing elbows, and hitting Zaza in the face with his forearm.

Shit, if I'm playing and someone does that to me, I'll either get up in their face and push em back.

I didn't even say Garnett should be suspended, anyways. I could honestly care less. Just commenting on the situation.

"looks as if he thrown away by superman"? What the hell is that?

For the last time, KG did nothing to earn the technical, it was Zaza who went after KG and headbutted him, not the other way around. Watch the video again, since you posted it.

Keep hating though, it's great for your health. [IMG]

What are you talking about? First of all, KG pushed Zaza away, hit him in the face with his forearm AFTER the foul was called, and the whistle was blown. And even after Zaza got off him, too.

And then, the ref was holding KG back. KG pushed his arm down. The ref continued to try to hold KG, and he pushed the ref away again. And he keeps pushing away the refs. It starts at :12, really look at it.

If you aren't seeing that, then I really have to question your homerism.

I also don't get how Boston have been yapping their big mouths all series, but when the Hawks get in their face they take it all seriously. Like we're supposed to show them some respect.

If you don't respect what the Celtics did this season, then you're not a true fan of basketball. Simple as that.

pegs, lets put KG in Zaza's place and Zaza in KG's place, and it was KG who went after Zaza, I swear, he would have been taken out of the game, and probably suspended. But because it is Zaza (a garbage player) then its nothing, you let it happen. Thats whats wrong with the refs, as well as during the whole game they made shi**y calls that favored the Hawks. (but will not blame them for the loss, still blame our players for not playing how they're supposed to play and how they played all season long)
